You can try any of Revlon's Creme Of Nature Shampoos. Their moisturizing formula allows you to skip conditioner (if you like). Hair is soft, smells great and if you blow dry, fabulous!

Also if you're on a budget, Suave Professionals makes some of your favorite top shelf shampoo/conditioners at a much reduced cost. You can find them at neighborhood beauty supply stores or WalMart.
V05. yes its really cheap, but don't be fooled. It works amazing, and it smells so good too.

EDIT: I read Head and Shoulders has something in the shampoo which would dry out your hair if its anymore than straight.
Aussie. (:

I use Aussie Sydney Smooth sometimes %26amp; it works great!

What is the best shampoo for hair which has greasy roots and dry ends?

I have tried most products on the market but my hair always looks dull,no shine in it,no silkiness...really horrible...might it be something else, like stress, lack of certain vitamins in the body,etc....What is the best shampoo for hair which has greasy roots and dry ends?
Shampoo is meant to remove dirt, sebum (a.k.a. oils), and product buildup from your hair. But there are dozens of different brands to choose from, and even more types within those brands. The same goes for conditioners. Conditioners are meant to add shine, protect hair from drying out and allow for easier combing. Here, we run down the best shampoos and conditioners for four different hair types.

1. Coarse, curly hair Curly hair is almost always dry hair and here’s why: Oils produced in the scalp don’t travel as easily down the hair shaft as they do with straight hair. We've found creamy, moisturizing shampoos work best for this hair texture. Look for wheat germ oil, shea butter and nut oils (macadamia, for example) in your shampoos. These tend to coat the hair shaft, trapping water inside.

Conditioners: More than any other hair type, women with coarse, curly hair must condition every time they shampoo. Look for an ultra-moisturizing conditioner made especially for coarse hair. Once a month use a hot oil treatment. For extra-dry hair, use an intense moisturizing treatment every 2 weeks.

Extra tip: Curly hair should not be washed every day. You’ll only dehydrate hair and make it more frizzy and unmanageable. Another alternative to shampoo washings is to rinse the hair with water and then follow with a conditioner. Also, lay off the blow dryer (they tend to dry out hair even more) and let curls dry naturally.

2. Fine, oily, or limp hair Fine hair is most susceptible to looking 'oily' and can get this way after only one day. Opt for clear shampoos and stay away from the creamy ones that were made for your curlier sisters. You want a gentle shampoo marked for daily or frequent washing. The secret fine hair shampoo lies in a bodybuilding ingredient called panthenol. Hair experts swear that panthenol penetrates the hair cuticle making each strand thicker. Another tip: Use a dry shampoo or talcum powder between washings. Not only will the powder soak up oils, but it adds body as well.

Conditioners: Not all limp-haired ladies need conditioners. If you find you can easily comb out hair after washings without a conditioner you can skip it. Conditioners are good for combing out fine hair. Just don’t let the product touch your scalp. Massage a light-weight conditioner from mid-shaft down and no need to leave it on for long. If you have extremely greasy hair, look for the oil-absorbing tea-tree oil in your conditioner.

Extra tip: Consider using a spray conditioner. They tend to be more light-weight and therefore don’t weigh the hair down. Also, unless your hair is extra-oily, there’s no need to ‘rinse and repeat.’ One shampoo will do you. You don’t have to lather twice.

3. Processed hair Adding moisture is key for colored, permed and relaxed hair. Unfortunately, overly-processed hair can suffer from oily roots but dry shaft and ends. Therefore, washing processed hair can be tricky business. You want to cleanse the roots while moisturizing the ends. We suggest washing hair every other day with a shampoo made for normal hair. Concentrate on cleaning the scalp. Then use a strong conditioner only on the midshaft to ends of hair. Here are other shampoo tips for the following processed hair types:

* Colored. Hair experts swear color-protection shampoos contain gentle cleansers and ingredients that preserve color. Other experts suggest shampoos for colored hair are just another way for companies to make money off you. They suggest using a gentle cleanser such as baby shampoo instead of the pricey specialized shampoos. We say: Whatever works for you. Don't mind paying for the fancy stuff? Then do it. If you like it, then stick with it. Dozens of products on shelves must mean they work for somebody.

* Permed or relaxed. Any moisturizing shampoo will work for your hair type but apply it only to roots and rub it in well. Then apply a quick burst of water. While the water is running down the hair shaft, massage hair to remove any dirt and grime. Rinse well. You don’t want to skip the conditioner. Make sure to keep conditioner from the roots.

Conditioners: Look for a rich conditioner to be used primarily on the ends of your hair. Avoid conditioners that contain silicone, since they tend to strip color.

Extra tip for processed hair: Wash your hair only every few days to prevent drying out. You can use a dry shampoo or if you're blond, a talcum powder, in between washings.

4. Dry, damaged hair

Avoid clear shampoos and go straight for the creamy ones. These smooth, detangle and diffuse static.

Conditioners: Again, moisturizing is key. You’ll want to look for an ultra-moisturizing conditioner.

1.

Step 1

The first step in choosing the best shampoo and conditioner brand for your hair should be determining your particular hair type. Is your hair predominantly oily or dry?

2.

Step 2What is the best shampoo for hair which has greasy roots and dry ends?
Try a lotion called Ziravie, which combines tradition, science and nature to provide a mixture of natural nutrients, minerals and vitamins, which act on the scalp in depth, that in turn stimulates strong, healthy, robust hair growth, strengthening hair roots, gives volume and reduces thinning , hair loss and baldness. plus check their website which gives a combination of fruits and vegetables that helps to strengthen the hair roots internally.

The lotion that I use helps to accelerate hair growth but it is a a process first it calms the scalp, itching reduces, then with discipline use hair fall stops, within 3 weeks of use the hair roots strengthens and you start to see volume and silkiness

The website is www.ziravie.com but I bought it in Spain and now it is available on ebay.co.uk
Alberto Balsam (the apple one) works for me with greasy hair and I'd go for a conditioner for your ends.
I have the same problem, so I usually don't put conditioner on my roots.

  • My son spilled carpet shampoo directly on carpet. Wont stop sudsing. Anyone know how to get it out?

We have been rinsing carpet over and over again and it just keeps sudsing. My son spilled carpet shampoo directly on carpet. Wont stop sudsing. Anyone know how to get it out?
pour on straight white vinager may need upto a gallon if a lot of shampoo was spilled let sit then suck up and use plain water repeat once if needed. My son spilled carpet shampoo directly on carpet. Wont stop sudsing. Anyone know how to get it out?
GREAT...always worked for me Report Abuse

    vinegar
Fill your carpet shampooer with plain water. Use it over the area, same as if you were shampooing. Don't soak the water onto the carpet! Light, even coats. Vacuum with the shampooer each time you go over the area with plain water to pull the water back up. Keep doing this until the water comes back up clear.

If you don't have a carpet shampooer... you need a wet/dry shop vac! You'll have to vacuum up as much as you can get out of the carpet. Spray clean water onto the area, rub it in a little and vacuum up. Repeat until water starts coming up clean (well, as clean as it can get).

Don't use your regular vacuum cleaner... please! Go to WalMart, if you have to! Only a wet/dry shop vacuum will survive!
set up a wire tie up between two poles and hang the carpet on the wire and spray or if you are strong enough soak the carpet and let it suck the water and hang until the water drips and dry
The product you can use is called defoamer. Lots of janitorial companies use it.
They have a product that will stop the suds, they use it in Jacuzzi's so I'm sure it will work on carpet
u can go to a pool/spa place and get a anti-foaming liquid......we use it in our outside spa, i would think it would stop the foaming and allow u to take r carpet cleaning machine and suck up the remaining liquid......
try salt. That is what they say to put in your dishwasher if it is sudsing from regular soap being put in.
have you tried blotting it up with bath towels?
Try pouring bakins soda on it to help absorb some and then vaccuum it up.

Is it ok to wash my baby pomerarain with baby shampoo?

All the puppy shampoos I have found say not to use on puppies under 12 weeks old. My puppy is 8 weeks and I would love to have her smell a little better. Do you think its ok to use baby shampoo since it is so gentle? Is it ok to wash my baby pomerarain with baby shampoo?
Yes, it is fine. Just make sure to rinse well, and dry thoroughly...Don't allow a chill at his age..Keep the house warm while he dries, and use a blow dryer, on low setting.....as his immune system isn't developed, and a chill can allow disease to creep in...

    NOTE: this from Dr. Mike, DVM%26gt;

    http://www.vetinfo4dogs.com/dhair.html#S鈥?/a>

I saw a study once, which I couldn't find to supply the reference for,

which was a review of the ingredients of various pet and people shampoos,

as well as a test of factors like pH and eye irritation. In the study, the

authors could find no significant differences between pet shampoos and

people shampoos. So I tell my clients to use whatever they like, or have on

    hand.

I am sure that some shampoos work better on any particular dog than others

but that the brands that work well for that one dog may not be the best for

    another dog.

I think that this information is probably also true for conditioners but

have not seen any reviews of the various conditioners to prove or disprove

    that.

When medicated shampoos are indicated there is some variation between the

availability of some ingredients between pet shampoos and people shampoos

so it is important to follow your vet's recommendations if a medicated

    shampoo is called for.

3/28/2001Is it ok to wash my baby pomerarain with baby shampoo?
    OMG!!!!

    NOT just ';No.'; but ';***HELL NO!!!****';

That's ***NOT*** ';gentle'; ya dimmy! IT's STRONG!!!WAY *TOO* STRONG!!!

    DON'T do it!!!
yes, baby shampoo is alright, no more than once a week or so. Also, you must keep it warm until it dries and if you get the bright idea to use a hair dryer on it, know this, baby skin is much more easily burned....I'd put a couple of towels in the dryer and towel it dry, then hold it or put it in a kennel wrapped in the towel, it's safer than using the blow dryer. Vaccinations are also due, be sure to get them started to help ward off canine diseases and get the Booster shots, a growing puppy's immune system changes constantly for the first few months.
No, puppy shampoos are also very gentle, but you shouldn't use either until they are 12 weeks old.
human shampoo can dry out his or her skin.
No actually shampoo for people is not good for dogs. I think you should get some deoderizing spray instead. You can find it in the area where the shampoo is.
    yes it is ok
no use dog shampoo from your local pet store because your dog might get a allergic reaction and he could come very sick.
No, do not use people shampoo on your puppy. A dogs skin dries out very easily especially a pup so younge. I don't think its a good idea at 8wks but if you are going to do so, use puppy shampoo. Puppys get sick very easily. Makes sure you dry his hair with a blow dryer(not too hot) so he doesn't get a chill and get sick.
I'm not sure, it may harm her skin after this shampoo is manufactured for human skin, why don't you just rinse your dog for now then when she is a little older wash her in dog shampoo.
Baby shampoo is fine, I would just wash her body and stay away from head and face. Also dawn dishwashing liquid is very gentle for puppies.
It's o.k. But, they do sell shampoo 4 puppies. It does not have flea killer in it. It is only scented. (walmart or your local pet store)

How long do I have to wait until I can shampoo my hair?

I got semi-permanent hair dye put in my hair today and I would like to know how long I should wait to shampoo my hair so that the color won`t fade away quickly. How long do I have to wait until I can shampoo my hair?
Semi permanent colours only last a certain number of washes anyway. A standard semi can last up to 8 washes and a quasi up to 16 washes. So if you don't want it to fade quickly don't wash your hair as often.

You should also use a conditioner after each wash, this will help to close the cuticles and seal the colour. How long do I have to wait until I can shampoo my hair?
i think about 2 days but i am not sure Report Abuse

IF IT IS A PERM 3 DAYS COLOR CAN BE WASHED ASAP !!!
you can wash as soon and as often as you like but beware-because semi permanent dyes fade with time the more you wash your hair the quicker it will fade.
you can wash it now!! just try to get a hair colour shampoo,it helps, oh also you usually get a small thing of conditioner in your pack use that as it is supposed to be specially formulated to work with that product. it will fade gradually anyway so when it does, decide on wether to make it more permanant next time! oh and also deep condition it now and then, it will help with the stress of colouring!!x
I would say leave it just a few days, and use a shampoo for coloured hair ie Dove or what ever make you perfer.
Give it at leaste 48 hours so it gives it time to settle in you cant stop it from fading or washing out as it is a semi permanent colour but after your first wash the color will look better as the top layer of the colour always looks slightly dull and masked but after the colour has faded you find you realy liked the colour then go for a permanent next time it lasts longer x
my daughter is a hairdresser and told me 2 days - she suggests using conditioner at each was to 'seal the hair cuticles'
I think they say you should wait at least a day, so I'd say by Sunday morning should be good. You can wet it down if you need to, but avoid shampoo and conditioner for tomorrow at least.
    when it get greasy

Hair colour fades out anyway the first few times you wash it
Normally it will be written on the packet or the broshure inside. Please chek up.Normally semi permanent hair dye can be washed in large quanity of water after it is dry or after a few hours.Instead of using shampoo use some soft liquid soap.
You can wash dye right away. But perms you can't
i cant believe this question is coming from a female. arnt u supposed to shampoo ur hair by default every other day?
You can shampoo tomorrow if you want....semi-permanent will wash out a little bit at a time...permanent last a bit longer but eventually fades as well, call a beauty salon if your curious, they might better assist you.
The less you wash it, the longer the colour will stay in.

Or to put it this way, every wash steals some colour.

Wait as long as you can between each wash. Usually, my hairdresser tells me, hair is fine even if it is washed every second or even every third day. (Well, that depends on your lifestyle, of course, smoky pubs or a hard workout requires washing...)
make sure you dont wash your hair until at least 48hrs... afetr you have dyed your hair..and a semi-color only lasts for a little while,so enjoy your new color i have just semi colored my hair with burgundy highlights...lol

Why do I taste shampoo in my mouth when I put it on my hair?

This happens every time I shower. I'll shampoo my hair and then I have the taste in my mouth! I then have to rinse it with water because it tastes disgusting. But I don't know how it happens because I never open my mouth when I do so.

Why does this happen? Why do I taste shampoo in my mouth when I put it on my hair?
I get the same thing. Whatever I put on my skin I can taste. If I touch coins I'll taste coins all day no matter how many times I wash my hands. If I use body lotion I taste that too. None of this stuff ever goes in my mouth either. Why do I taste shampoo in my mouth when I put it on my hair?
tilt your head back as you wash %26amp; rinse and keep your mouth closed.

Can using a new shampoo give you dandruff?

I just bought this new shampoo and conditioner and have washed my hair with it twice. I have noticed that I have a lot of dandruff now and haven't had it for a long time! Is it the shampoo/conditioner that is causing it or could there be another reason? Can using a new shampoo give you dandruff?
that usually happens to me too... i think its just that the contents of the product do not go along well with our skin type.. coz there are shampoos and conditioners which do not cause dandruff...

when you buy something to use for any part of your body, consider its contents and its configuration.. an example is for the ';';skin type';'; (oily skin, dry skin) or ';';hair type';'; (oily hair, fine hair)...

my dad used to attribute it to being just unable to wash away the shampoo or conditioner very well.. such that their residues make the skin itch and eventually develop into flakes... !o!. which i sometimes find is true...

anyway, if in the event you've already washed your hair very well after using it and still have dandruff, better switch to your usual shampoo and conditioner...

you may find it a waste of money to throw away or give away the shampoo and conditioner you've just bought but if they make you uncomfortable, why care?

i hope you'll find yourself dandruff-free after this...

ajah...!!!Can using a new shampoo give you dandruff?
It could be, if the shampoo makes your scalp really dry, that could leed to dandruff.

    : )
The one you might have been using before had a moisturizer in it which aided in preventing your dry scalp which leads to dandruff.
your old shampoo could have been an anti-dandruff shampoo, and the switch may not be preventing it anymore. Otherwise your scalp may not agree with one of the ingredients in your new shampoo.
Yes they do, my friend had the same problem.
Yeah chances are there.Dandruff is one of the major disorders of the scalp.Poor hygiene, improper diet ,sluggish condition of the scalp caused by poor blood circulation are the main causes of dandruff. More simple remedies for dandruff at http://usefulinfo-dandruff.blogspot.com/

  • Which is the right shampoo for fine hair?

I have fine (thin) hair and a lot of it. Its a little wavy and is effected by the humidity in the air. It seems that my hair is either a large pooof ball or is so flat. I am currently using Fructis Sleek %26amp; Shiney but I think my hair has gotten used to it. I also use a leave in conditioner but I don't remember which brand.

Please recommend some shampoos and conditioners.Which is the right shampoo for fine hair?
Hey. We could be hair twins. lol. Really though, my hair behaves in just the same way. It is thin/fine, just a little wavy, and is very affected by humidity. One of the girls at the salon I used to go to suggested TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey shampoo and conditioner to me a few years back. I used that for a few months and it worked okay, but not so well after that. Plus, it cost a little more than I liked.

Then, one day at school about a year back they were handing out goodie bags with cosmetic and hair products for some fundraiser. In it was a sample of Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in moisturizer. I tried the sample and really liked it so I ended up buying it. That is seriously the ONLY shampoo I have used since! And it still works wonderfully!! It comes in a pink bottle and you can get the shampoo and conditioner for $3 each at Target. =) Good luck!Which is the right shampoo for fine hair?
You should alternate our shampoo depending on the weather. On heavy fog days you need a shampoo with no weight like Purology for fine hair....on days when you want to weigh your hair down, you should use a heavier shampoo like redken all soft.
Usually a volumizing shampoo is better for fine hair. I recommending switching your conditioners between volumizing and moisturizing. Volumizing conditioners contain more protiens and moisturizers contain more moisture. When it seems like your hair is used to one or it seems like its just not working anymore its because your hair has had enough of it. So switching between two when you need to is good. TIGI self absorbed is awsome for your type of hair. Also, halo and matrix are good ones too.
Anything from a dollar town store--- good shampoos and conditioners for 99 cents all the time, any time
well i use garnier or pantene thoose r my favorites nd they dont damdge my hair which is an iomprovement.i always use pantene or garnier
How do you normally style it? If you are wearing it curly and you do not have excessive color work than something as simple as Matrix will be suitable. If you are more dry but like to wear it curly I would go to Kerastase Volume Active. It is a whole line of styling products for this type of hair. Really the only thing you do differently for smoother looks is apply a very small amount spray shine by either Tigi or Aveda on the finished style to very lightly smooth and shine. They are lightest ones I know about.
herbal essance works wicked good...i have the same excact type of hair as you..as for a leave in conditioner.. i like garnier fruites (i have no idea how to spell that) its a green tub... also if your hair is still frizzy or a ';poof ball'; try straightening it..and if its too flat..scrunch it, or wear a headband or wear it up...or even curl the ends ike beach waves.

How can tell if shampoo and/or soap is washed off completely from your hair/hands?

I have OCD and I always think that there's some soap/shampoo left on my body after I take a shower.

I remember today I washed shampoo off my hair but after a few hours when I touched my hair, it felt really awkward. It also smelled like shampoo.

How can you tell if it's washed off or not.How can tell if shampoo and/or soap is washed off completely from your hair/hands?
well of course they smelled like shampoo! when i am in the shower, after i have rinsed out my hair i ring it out (only works if you have long hair) if more bubbles form then i rinse again. or after you have rinsed it out, comb your hands through your hair and kinda scratch your head (like a hair stylist does when they wash your hair). that way you make sure that nothing is hiding and you got all of you hair rinsed out

How to permanently remove shampoo build up?

I've had shampoo build up (cradle cap) since i was a baby. now i'm 13 and i still have it! i scrub my head when i shampoo whenever i can. should i stop shampooing or is there another remedy to PERMANENTLY remove shampoo build up? thank you!How to permanently remove shampoo build up?
Apply baby oil to your scalp and use a fine tooth comb and gently lift the cradle cap off of your scalp. Be careful that you don't hurt your scalp and make sure that you shampoo the remnants completely from your hair.

Hope that helps! How to permanently remove shampoo build up?
do you let your hair dry natural. if so then that builds bacteria and then when your hair does dry the bacteria turns to white flakes. message scalp by combing out before washing. blow dry hair. at 13, you dont have cradle cap. vinegar is a good astringent to get out build up. i always change out my shampoos so i dont get build up. if you use the same products all the time that is how you get build up. also try this, after combing out the hair, before washing, soak your scalp in some baby oil and let soak for about 15 min then wash out very very well.
Try Bumble and bumble ';Sunday'; shampoo

What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry hair?

ANY SUGGESTIONS?!What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry hair?
    Herbal Essences is really great.

I had the same problem as you...I am very active and I'm always out in the sun. My hair was always dry and very damanged because I straightened my gair. But Herbal Essences is very moistirizing and strengthens your hair. It is definitely one of the best on the market. It is great. What is the best shampoo and conditioner for dry hair?
i would try bed head's dumb blonde shampoo and conditioner. it works wonders for my clients and myself. and just as a reminder, products sold at stores like cvs are not approved by the products themselves and 9 times out of 10 are tampered with. you can most of the time find them cheaper at salons and when bought at salons always come with a guarantee. i work at smart style, a regis based company out of walmarts, and you have 30 days to try a product and bring it back to try something else out if you don't like it. that way you can find exactly what your hair needs! and we have different sales every month, so you'll find something that will help you out! hope that helps!

oh and about pantene: they have wax based oils in their products that do in fact make your hair appear silkier, but actually cause build up on your hair and leave it more damaged over time! it is one of the worst shampoos and conditioners to buy because of that reason!
Pantene is the best, for dry hair. Just some ideas for you here. Rinse your hair out after swimming, always. Use a protective spray in your hair before you go swimming. And when you go to rinse out your conditioner always leave a little on your hair. You could also rub a teaspoon of vaseline over the palms of your hands when your hair is dry and just scrunch it through and this brings shine and protection.
Catwalk Oatmeal %26amp; Honey shampoo and conditioner is gr8 for dry hair plus nurishes damaged. It should be available tho I'm not sure... if not, then use something that specifically says it adds hydration. Deep condition your hair once a week for 15mins w/ extra virgin coconut oil. Use a good hair serum daily, like Citre Shine, which is available @ cvs %26amp; is cheap. :)

    G'luck!
    try dove moisture theraphy shampoo and conditioner it has moisture serum that makes your hair prettier,straighter and softer try it for two weeks then you will see the difference of your hair.:%26gt;

I use the erbal essence stuff..lol i think thats what it was call..maybe it was something that started with an F. Use Aussie. You will like that onw i hope! =]]What is a good shampoo and conditioner for oily hair?
I'd try Sunsilk, Pantene, VO5, and Herbal Essences. I mainly use Sunsilk, and it works great! You can buy all these at supermarkets and drug stores for very cheap. Some of them even come in different scents and are personalized for frizzy, curly, wavy, straight hair, etc.
Salon products are best, but if you're not willing to spend the money, than just get one that says for oily hair on it. It won't be as good, but it should still help at least a little.

anything with ';Tea Tree'; in it. Paul Mitchell has a good one. It won't overdry, just remove excess oil. Hope that helps!

What is the best shampoo for thinning hair?

i have noticed that i am loosing my hair whenever i brush it! its always falling out, i find hair every hair. i am not going bald, but my hair is not as thick as it use to be! what kind of shampoo should i use to help me with my thinning hair? what vitamins should be taken? What is the best shampoo for thinning hair?
There is a really great brand called Nioxin, it is sold in salons and beauty center stores. It is made especially for thinning hair. It works really well. What is the best shampoo for thinning hair?
The Pfizer hair medicine Rogaine actually makes a shampoo for thinning hair and it contains the active drug that in theory helps to restore hair growth. Perhaps that is what you seek.
eat healthier and ask a hair sylist next time u get your hair cut. take olive oil capsules. and i heard alot of models wash there wair with beer, thats been heated to a sryup like feel over the stove, you know if u want to try that.
THE BEST IS LEANNA'S HAIR PRODUCT BELIEVE ME MY HAIR IS LONG AND THICK AND NOT ONLY DOES IT THICKEN YOU HAIR, IT MAKES IT LONGER CHECK IT OUT!!!!!
    Pantene.
don't us shampoo. this will dry your hair and head. wash your hair less and look for some shampoo with a little olive oil.
Best shampoo is Nioxin. You can buy it at professional salons/beauty stores.

Also, get your thyroid checked. It could be b/c of a medical condition.

I also heard prenatal vitamins are good for hair growth/thickness too.
Look for head and shoulders shampoo with Pyrithione Zinc 2%. The regular bottle comes with 1% but 2% is more effective.. Pyrithione Zinc is a DHT (dihydrotestosterone) blocker. DHT is usually the reason for falling hair.

You could also get the shampoo sold at http://www.minoxidil.com - it also contains a fairly power DHT blocker that will help you keep your hair. Minoxidil.com only sells one shampoo - however, you'll need an online consultation before you can purchase anything...

What is a good shampoo and conditioner for dry, damaged hair?

Also, what is a good weekly treatment for dry, damaged hair?

ThanksWhat is a good shampoo and conditioner for dry, damaged hair?
Naturelle Biotera Moisturizing/Reconstructing Shampoo and Conditioner is GREAT.

A good weekly treatment is using a hot oil treatment or mixing honey and olive oil[and heating it up and applying to hair] once a week.

I had damaged fragile hair, and what i've been doing since is when I get out of the shower I towel dry it, then I put Beyond The Zone ';Split Mender'; on the tips of my hair, then I let it air dry for a little bit. Then after It starts to slightly dry I put CHI Silk Infusion [or a cheaper version;Generic Silk Treatment] on the the roots and around the top of my hair. Then i blow dry it with a round tourmaline brush n sections. Then i put a few drops of The Silk Treatment into my hand and it makes your hair Unbeliveably soft and healthy to the touch.

Also another tip is when your rinsing the conditioner use cold water, because it seals the cuticle up.What is a good shampoo and conditioner for dry, damaged hair?
It depends on what your hair type is. Redkin and Biolage have some great products for dry hair. If your hair is coarse or needs lots of moisture I suggest using Redkin's Allsoft line. Part of the line is a weekly treatment called Heavy Cream which is amazing. If your hair is dry Redkin's Clear Moisture line is good. If your hair is fairly damaged Redkin's Extreme line is really good at getting your hair back in shape. Pretty much all of Redkin's lines contain a weekly treatment conditioning product.

Biolage makes 2 kinds of moisturizng lines for dry and damaged hair. One is for fine/normal hair and the other is for thick coarse hair, so you can find which one would better suit your hair type.

I have struggled with dry, coarse and frizzy hair for years and use Biolage's Ultra-hydrating shampoo and conditioner and really love it. Most drug store brands that claim to be hydrating actually strip my hair and leave it worse off.
I really recommend tresseme's dry brittle hair mask type thing, it comes in a big tub and works really well for my hair. That would probably make a good weekly treatment, as does coconut oil.

Any conditioner with coconut is very good for dry hair.

There's a nice website called 'Oyin' too, their products are mostly suitable for all hair types.
pantene pro-v for sure its the best and helps a lot! so many of my friends use it and always recommend it often! oh and a good weekly treatment for your hair would be a deep conditioner they have lots at sallys...you can choose which you think is best for your hair but i like to use hair cholesterol! oh and my friends favorite treatment is loreal natures therapy deep conditioning treatment that should work reallly well cuz she bleaches her hair often and she says it makes her hair soft and smooth again!
I just started using salon shampoos and my hair feels so much better! I reccomend going to your local salon and asking what would be best for your hair, and remember not all salon products have to cost lots of money. You can get some for just 8 dollars! (no they are not the mini size)
TIGI Catwalk oatmeal and honey shampoo and conditioner. itz for dry/damaged/dyed hair. it works great i love it and it smells great to!!

and for the weekly treatment do hot oil treatments you can get them at your local hair salon, they work great as well!!

What is the best way to get knots out using shampoo?

Im african american so I have poofy have but my dad is puerto rican so my hair isnt that bad but it still has alot of knots. If you know a really good shampoo. To take out knots i use pantene and i dont like it i need something to remover knots not make it shiny or stronger.

BEST ANSWER WILL BE POSTED ON MY BLOGWhat is the best way to get knots out using shampoo?
Use conditioner, not shampoo,to get the knots out.

let it sit for 2-3 minutes.

%26amp;%26amp;dont ever come wet hair bc your ends are more vulnerable to breakage.

%26lt;3What is the best way to get knots out using shampoo?
you could use a conditioning shampoo and when you are in the shower use a comb and gently comb your hair. that should remove most knots. dont use a brush because it will break your hair and it will become more frizzy and knotted.
You should use conditioner to get knots out, you should use conditioner anyway...

Try herbal essences or garnier fructis, they both help with knots and make your hair look great, plus they both smell really good!
try a kids detangler spray i used to use it like a year ago
try loreal knot shampoo. i works for me! Good Luck!!

What is the best shampoo for regular hair?

I have straight hair that doesn't have highlights or anything. But one problem with my hair is that throughout the day it can get overly oily. And sometimes I might skip a day without showering and it's almost like I put gel in my hair!!!! So what I'm looking for is a brand ( I don't care about the price) that's good for regular/oily hair. Any help? What is the best shampoo for regular hair?
Vive by L'Oreal works well for me.What is the best shampoo for regular hair?
get shampoos that say for flat hair with no body and things like that. find a shampoo for your specific hair type. If you don't care about the price, use Biolage Matrix shampoo. maybe use something that says lifts from the root or something with volume so it doesn't lay flat on your head. People with oily hair have to wash it everyday, so i wouldn't recommend skipping. keep your hands out of your hair. and when you use condition, don't put it on your roots. just apply it to your ends!
Shampoo can really effect your hair. The shampoo i use works great and it is Herbal Essences. I love it and sometimes i skip a day without showering and my hair does fine so try it:) Hope this helped and good luck:)

  • What is the best shampoo to use if s/one is experiencing hair loss due to weak roots?

I am only 20 and I am having some sort of a hair loss, not serious one though.

My family has no history of hair loss or medical issues so I know its not a genetic thing.

I think its b/c of bad shampoos and styling products I used that weakened the roots.

Whats the best shampoo to fix that? What is the best shampoo to use if s/one is experiencing hair loss due to weak roots?
Don't take any advice consult a proper beautician or dermatologist. What is the best shampoo to use if s/one is experiencing hair loss due to weak roots?
    shampolix3
It could be numberous things that aren't necessarily genetic.

My guess would be poor nutrition, lack of protein.

Shampoos and styling products don't weaken roots. If the cause were styling products your hair would be breaking off mid-strand, not falling out from the roots.

    Eat more protein.
You wouldn't need shampoo if you have no hair! But seriously, you should talk to a doctor, or talk to somebody else who has this condition.
    head%26amp;sholuders shampoo
Try VitaTress Biotin shampoo by Nexxus. My hairdresser swears by it and it is good for thinning hair.
You need to consult a dermatologist to verify the reason for your hair loss. There might be a medical reason for it that needs to be addressed.
If you have hair breakage (usally occuring midshaft and at the ends of the hair) that can be fixed. If, however, you are experiencing breakage from the roots, you may need to see a dermatologist. Styling products do not weaken roots.

Shampoos will not stop breakage. They will clean your hair. First and foremost you must begin taking a multi vitamin and biotin supplment 2 times a day and driking 32 ounces of water a day. This will help stop the breakage from the inside. Dry and damaged hair comes from overprocessing and lack of conditoning. You need to deep conditon your hair EVERY week using a mixure of olive oil, mayo, and eggs. PROTEIN helps make your hair stronger! You should also do a weekly hot oil treatment with pure jojoba oil and/or avacado oil (purchase from vitaminne shoppe, vitamin world, and/or GNC). Wash your hair only 2 times a week as this will help preserve your own natural oils (sebum). If you want to get a good cheap shampoo and conditioner I would try Garneir Fructis. Althoughh the vitamin shoppe sells jojoba shampoo and conditioner for about 3 bucks a bottle. It's natural and great for your hair. Aubry Organics also makes great shampoos and conditoners that can also be purchased there but they are more pricey! Good Luck
your family physician or hometown hair salon can help you.
I hate to say it but race does often play a role.

If you process your hair and are AA STOP!!!!!Relaxers will be the reason you鈥檙e losing hair. They stunt hair growth after a while. If your AA try Silk Elements shampoo and conditioner with cholesterol.

If youre not AA, shampoos and styling products are not your problem.Try not washing you hair with shampoo.Apply conditioner to your hair and rinse instead for a while.Maybe you're stripping your hair more than you should. If that doesnt help see a doctor.

If you crush birth control and put it in your shampoo with it grow?

    Is this true?

Do you know of any other way to get your hair to grow?If you crush birth control and put it in your shampoo with it grow?
    no way..!

You can't do anything to make your hair grow faster, but you can make it grow healthier, by taking good care of it. (you know, condition, avoid heating tools, etc etc)

That way, you won't have to get so many trims because you'll have less breakage.

In any case, you still have to get it trimmed regularly (every 8 weeks or so) or when you have a lot of split ends.

hope I've helped...If you crush birth control and put it in your shampoo with it grow?
I really don't think this works. It sounds really stupid.

Make sure you're eating healthy or taking some vitamins. Healthy hair starts from the inside!

Watch how much heat damage you cause to your hair too...the more damage, the more easily it will break off.

The healthier the hair, the better it will grow!
NO! Biotin check out WebMD %26amp; Google it. Also Vitamin E.
    that will NOT work!

birth control is used to stop having babies!

    isn't that obvious?
i used that it doesn't any effect to your hair-lost control.
This question was already asked is a MYTH!
NO THATS NOT TRUE AT ALL

but if you put bleach in your shampoo it will
i dont think it works use mail and tail its a shampoo it has house on it it will make ur hair grow fast.
yes it is true....u can put some in your conditioner.. and leave the conditioner on your hair for 5-10 minutes
i've never heard of that but i think im pretty sure it's not true

I second the Redken Extreme set.
The best shampoo and conditioner to repair and prevent split ends comes from the sunsilk company. It is called Hydra TLC. It comes in a PINK bottle and It is sold at virtually any drug store or grocery store and goes for around $3 a bottle. It smells great and leaves your hair silky, smooth and soft. Sunsilk sells hydra tlc shampooo, conditioner, 247 creme and a multi-symptom mask. I would definaetly try sunsilk if i were you!!!
    Redken Extreme (Shampoo, Conditioner, Treatment)
If you want truly moisturized hiar you will need to go to a salon and look at thier products. Most of the one's you buy in department stores and stuff actually have plastics in them. They coat your hiar with these to make it seems healthy, when it actually isnt. My hiardresser shocked me when she took a razor and slid it down the shaft of my hiar, scraping off all this waxy crud. I use the bed head stuff. They have some really instense hair moisturizer. I really like it but there are some other great brands. To repair I suggest an intensive treatment and to to prevent, a real shampoo and conditioner from a salon. It is a little more expensive but it makes your hiar really nice to touch.
    Dawn and chicken fat conditioner.
Arbonne Intelligence Shampoo and Conditioner. It is all natural and botanical based! It will not strip your hair of the natural oils it needs to grow and stay moisturized! Together it is about 50.00 but you will notice a difference the first time you use it!! http://www.ArbonneRGV.myarbonne.com

What is a good shampoo for my type of hair?

I'm a fourteen-year-old. My medium length hair is dry, thick, naturally volumized, bushy, tangled, damaged, and such.

What can I use to make it soft, kind of decreasing the volume, and just make it better? What is a good shampoo for my type of hair?
You should probably try Head %26amp; Shoulders. There is a whole collection of that line that you should probably try.

What is the best shampoo for semi-dry, thin, medium-length hair?

I can't wash my hair every day, but if I wait more than two days, it gets really oily.

My hair is also kind of rough and hard to manage. Should I use moisturizing shampoo/conditioner?What is the best shampoo for semi-dry, thin, medium-length hair?
Try using conditioner instead of shampoo, it sounds strange butit is like cream cleaning your face isntead of washing it. Use a palmfull of conditioner and rub your scalp with it. If your hair is oily use conditoner for oily hair and warm water not hot. You will know if thisworks for you as soon as your hair dries. What is the best shampoo for semi-dry, thin, medium-length hair?
The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. Its the best! You'll love it!

What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair and something to straighten it?

my hair is really thick..and a part is kinda wavy already because we have to tie our hair into a bun when we go on duty...What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair and something to straighten it?
If your hair is anything like mine, shampooing it on a daily basis will just damage it and make it more frizzy. Curlier hair tends to dry out faster than straight hair, so treat it carefully.

    Products I use:

    Garnier length and strength

    Garnier dry or damaged hair

    What I do typically:

In the shower, I will shampoo all my hair once every 2-3 days, sometimes I will only shampoo the roots. I condition all my hair every day. While conditioner is still in my hair, I use my fingers to comb it to take out snarls being careful not to pull it (this damages it further). Once out of the shower, I gently towel dry it. Blowdrying is BAD. Using a diffuser is ok. Before it is dry, use some other products in it to keep the frizz down. I like the Herbal essence max hold gel. You will have to experiment with it for the look you like. Only use alittle for a more natural look. I then finish it off with the extra hold spray gel.

Other great products for keeping the frizz at bay:

Samy (everything is great, especially the get curls re-energizing potion)

    Frizz-eaze (only the ointment)

I hope this helps, and I can't express enough, make sure to use conditioner on that part of your hair that is frizzy! What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair and something to straighten it?
    The line of Marc Anthony ';Simply Straight';
You mean like a shampoo and hair straightener? As far as hair straighteners go, the Remington ';wet to straight'; is amazing. It uses steam to straighten and smooth the most difficult hair.
herbal essence makes, dangerously straight, and none for frizzeness I like them both.

  • What is good baby shampoo for cradle cap?

I have 2 month old son, and he has cradle cap on his head and forehead. I rub baby oil on it and let it sit for like 30min before bath. but it doesn't look getting better. I used aveeno dark blue bottle shampoo and Johnson and Johnson (yellow one) any recommendation for baby shampoo or soap? Is it better to put lotion on his forehead after a bath?

His forehead cradle cap looks red, oily and looks itchy also, is it something I need to take him to doctor?

I need some help! ThanksWhat is good baby shampoo for cradle cap?
When we took a new baby class our teacher told us that Aveeno was the best shampoo for cradle cap and Johnson and Johnson was the worst. Other than that I would ask your pediatrician. What is good baby shampoo for cradle cap?
my 2 month son is going through the same thing. it's getting better though. we just use johnson %26amp; johnson baby shampoo and then use a soft bristle brush and gentle massage his scalp with it and then rinse it off. With his forehead/eyebrows I just use a baby wash clothe and gentle exfoliate his face. I put aveeno baby lotion on his face and rub into his hair also and massage his head with it. you also can use cortizone 1% on his face (his pediatrician recommended it) and that helps also.
My daughter had cradle cap too. I called the doctor and the nurse told me to use Aveeno Baby Shampoo two to three times a day. After the shampoo is rinsed out, brush his hair with a soft brush or comb and then apply Aquaphor baby lotion on his head each time and brush it in. Doing this for a few days worked for my daughter! The nurse said that if the ears look like it too, then the doctor needs to take a look. Good luck to you!
Baby oil is great! After letting it sit on the scalp for a few minutes, take a fine tooth comb and comb the cradle cap off. It's really easy! It may take a few times to get all of it. Good luck!
Best thing--leave it alone. It will go away on its own. Just gently wash with a baby washcloth during bath time. Looks worse than it actually is.
i would skip the store brand items and take him to your pediatrician. it could be a little bit worse than cradle cap, like eczema. they might prescribe something for him.

What is the best shampoo/conditioner for thick hair?

So, I have thick hair. It has a lot of body and overall is just thick, like most thick hair it can get frizzy and what not. It is also a bit wavy.

I was wondering, what is the best shampoo/conditioner for it that I can buy just at like my local drug store?

Thanks! What is the best shampoo/conditioner for thick hair?
I have the same exact kind of hair. I use Neutrogena Triple Moisture Cream Lather Shampoo paired with their Triple Moisture Daily Deep Conditioner. I also use the conditioner on my daughter's hair because her hair is thick %26amp; naturally curly. I usually buy it at Target. I like to use a comb to distribute the conditioner through my hair evenly and then let it soak in for about 5 minutes or so. I have never found anything else that has worked better on my hair and I highly recommend it.What is the best shampoo/conditioner for thick hair?
I have really thick hair, also, and I have bought so many different shampoos and conditioners and none of them have worked. I recently tried Burt's Bee's grapefruit shampoo and conditioner and it worked great for me. It gently cleaned without adding more to my hair and weighing it down. I also like Aussie's shampoos and conditioners. I would try Burt's Bees, its the best I have found so far. Hope I helped! :)
I have the thickest hair i have ever seen on a person. I personally like Bedhead Control Freak by Tigi. Its really nice. There are four Control Freak products, its used to tame curly and frizzy hair, but i've found it helps tame the thickness of my hair. I do straighten my hair and have found it a lot easier to straighten after using these products.
My hair is SUPER thick and I've looked and looked for a solution since I was about 7 years old. I'm 15 now and so far the absolute BEST shampoo/conditioner has been Mane n' Tails. It doesn't way your hair down and it detangles better than anything I've ever used.
i get thick hair from my native american side... but all hair types are different, and head n shoulders original formula works the best 4 me.
even i have thick hair i use garnier fructis long and strong or dove and i found dove the best it makes my hair very soft

  • What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair and something to straighten it?

my hair is really thick..and a part is kinda wavy already because we have to tie our hair into a bun when we go on duty...What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair and something to straighten it?

    The line of Marc Anthony ';Simply Straight';
You mean like a shampoo and hair straightener? As far as hair straighteners go, the Remington ';wet to straight'; is amazing. It uses steam to straighten and smooth the most difficult hair.
herbal essence makes, dangerously straight, and none for frizzeness I like them both.

Is Tresemme thermal creations shampoo and conditioner good?

I use some of there thermal creations products for when I straighten my hair. I aslo use smooth and silky shampoo but I want to know if the thermal creations shampoo and conditoner works well for people who have dry/ damaged hair.

I know thats what they say but I want some peoples opinions.

thanx! Is Tresemme thermal creations shampoo and conditioner good?
Tresemme makes good products all around. I would use the thermal creations for sure when I was going to use heat. If your hair is dry/damaged you should use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner; just alternate between the two.

My cat has really bad dandruff, is there any good shampoo products out there for her?

Ever since the first day I got her, she has had dandruff. She is black, and it makes her dandruff look worse than it is. Can any of you please give me the name of a good working (cheap) dandruff shampoo that should work for her?My cat has really bad dandruff, is there any good shampoo products out there for her?
Pet stores sell a dandruff oil you could get to rub on her coat. A bath will rinse some out too.My cat has really bad dandruff, is there any good shampoo products out there for her?
Don't use human shampoo on your cat, it will be too harsh. This is important since your cat already has dry, flaky skin. You can get a pet shampoo at your local pet store.

You should also try to figure out why she has dandruff:

I have to ask - what you are feeding her? My cat is a picky eater and I was running low on Evo so I started trying different brands to see if she'd go for any of them. She wasn't thrilled with the other brands and suddenly she started getting bad dandruff. I switched back to Evo and it was amazing how quickly the dandruff went away.

Another possible cause of the dandruff is an allergy to fleas or mites or some other parasite. If these are the underlying cause, you'll need to take her to the vet.

The link below has some info on cat dandruff and ways to deal with it, you'll need to scroll down the page. It also has a funny video of a cat being vac'd!
If she can handle a bath get some baby shampoo.. it is the pest bemedy for dandruff on a samll animal unfortanitly using humman pruduct on an animal are highly unrecomended because they never thoroughly wash our of there fur which in turn means when the cat licks itself it will ingest the shampoo that is still in its fur.

Good luck with the dandruff. And would recomend taking the cat to the vet or calling the local vet clinic for advice on it.
Dandruff means the skin is too dry. Shampoo will dry it out further, so that's not the way to stop it.

The vet carries a product called Derm Caps, which was $8 last I checked for 60 gel caps. You pierce the cap and put it over the food. If yours doesn't carry that, you can use a caplet of primrose oil or flax seed oil on the food twice a week. Or 1/4 tsp of canola oil once a week. Don't use cod liver oil, it's too heavy for their liver to process and regular use of that depletes their system of vitamin A.
You really should stay away from the shampoos. But there are things you need to do. If you cat sleeps on a pad or pillow be sure to wash it frequently, get rid of all the brushes you use on your cat and get new ones(wash them after use), get a carpet spray flea-control to spray on your carpet or engage a pest exterminator. Finally consider using a homeopthic remedy to clear up your cat's skin mites. There is more info below...best, Kate
Most cats hate water so giving her a bath is kind of evil and you will probably get lots of scratches. The cat doesn't care that she has dandruff. Just leave it. 3 of my cats have dandruff and they are all fine.

What is the best shampoo and conditioner?

I need one for fine hair, NOT color treated, but I don't want a volumizer. Thanks! What is the best shampoo and conditioner?
You need to try what is suitable only for you. As far as I know Shampoo and Conditioner should be in separated bottles, never buy *Two in One*. A good shampoo has transparent solution, not too strong odour actually it's light odour. What is the best shampoo and conditioner?
Try a professional hair care line(like Redken),..not only will it be a sure bet to not weight your hair down, it will also be the correct PH (4.5-5.5) for your hair and scalp, which will be more healthy for your hair. Also use a clarifying shampoo once a week to remove build up.
I don't have a best. I use all kinds. If I stay with the same shampoo/conditioner my hair becomes dull %26amp; heavy. I have to switch about every month.
Garnier Fructis! makes yours hair awesome. i use dry/damaged , but theres a boat load of kinds. Best ive ever had. In flouresent green bottle.
Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo is excellent, smells lovely and makes your hair really shiny.
Go With Different Brands And Try Them All Out.
dove ( i love gilrmore girls too)
    Pantene
Thermasilk or Garnier Fruictis works great for fine hair.
Suave!Make both of them the same smell for best results!
I agree that you should try different shampoo about once a month. I buy shampoo that's for fine hair and when that runs out I buy a different brand for fine hair. I think for me the best so far has been Pantene Pro-V for fine hair. I just started using Dove for fine hair yesterday so I'll let you know how that works!
Biolage it cleans and it smells really good!

Does anyone know a shampoo that will strip color from your hair good?

I have been told Suave is harsh on your hair so it works well, know of any others?Does anyone know a shampoo that will strip color from your hair good?
The only thing I have ever heard of is a malibu treatment. You have to go to your local salon and have them do it. Trust me I know, I dyed my hair Black once! I dont' know what I was thinking....I had to go have them do two treatments! good LuckDoes anyone know a shampoo that will strip color from your hair good?
baby shampoo!!! But be sure to deep condition afterwards!! And it will still not completly strip it. Also...being out in the sun will help it to fade. And rinsing in hot water. Try all three! Good luck!

What is the best shampoo or condistioner for oily hair?

sumthing cheep like under $10.00 and that smells sum-what good. What is the best shampoo or condistioner for oily hair?
I'm Spanish so our hair is always oily. I have found that Biolage (for dry hair) works great and smells good too. It's fairly cheap (depending on where u go to buy it).

Usually Salons will have sales that allow u to by the shampoo and get the conditioner for free. In addition, it lasts you longer. If it's over $10, I would suggest getting it. Cheap shampoos have the tendency to dry your hair out causing dead ends. What is the best shampoo or condistioner for oily hair?
I don't have oily hair but i know that the only shampoo i will really have had good luck with that you can buy at like walmart or a drug store is pantene i would look at their product and see if they have anything for oily hair if they do I'm sure it will work i use salon products now but if i ever don't have the money at the time i need to get more i use pantene products -good luck !
I like kiss my face whenever shampoo you can get it at a natural market. Prell is good for oily hair and so is suave clarifying shampoo. I have oily hair. I use biolage detangling solution for a conditioner. It is $14.
AUSSIE shampoos and conditioners are amazing. They smell great and there are only a few certain types for certain hair conditions-- oily hair treatment is one that is easily found.
The best I ever found was Hemp Shampoo! And once I put a slight colour to my hair, I never had oily hair again!
i dont know a shampoo/conditioner that is good for that, but you can actually dust some baby powder on your roots, to absorb the oil, then you have to rub it in so it doesn't stand out too much..i have black hair, and it works really well...quick...cheap..and easy..and smells fresh.

___what works better is really dark loose face powder.
';Drama Clean'; by Herbal Essences. It smells really nice too!!
    Matrix
avoid bottles that say shampoo+ conditioner

    Pantene or Pert works well
i use pantine when my hair is oily and when i get out its soft and i always get compements that my hair smells good
if you have oily hair, don't use conditioner because like when you sweat... your hair will get wet and disgusting..use shampoo..dove: hair therapy is really good. I have oily hair also, and ever since i didn't use conditioner, my hair is way better, stayed soft..
Unfortunately, That's something you need to find out for yourself. Everyone's Hair is different, just like your skin. And some shampoos work better for other people. I always had oily hair as a kid and have always used Pantene, as it worked best for me. But most stylists will tell you that the ph balance is bad for your hair. Well, it works great for me. But you really do just need to try a few different brands till you find one that works for you.

What is a good shampoo and Conditioner that's healthy n CHEAP?

Try Organix brand at www. ulta.com. It is sulfate-free and uses organic ingredients. What is a good shampoo and Conditioner that's healthy n CHEAP?
I used to use Pantene. I switched to the Jonathan shampoo, and I am currently using Redken because my hair is bleached. Honestly, I think it is sometimes better to pay a little more money for a better shampoo. My hair did so much better with Jonathan and is doing great with Redken.

Can I wash my guinea pigs with human or dog shampoo?

I already asked the question if you are supposed to wash your guinea pigs.

Im getting mine in a few weeks and im just getting prepared, so please awnser some of my other quesions when i have some.

My quesion is can you wash your guinea pigs with human or dog shampoo, or does it have to be special guinea pig shampoo?

    (ALSO, do you use soap?)

    thanks,

MaggieCan I wash my guinea pigs with human or dog shampoo?
You should use shampoo that is labeled for use with ';small animals';. It doesn't cost any more than human shampoo. Cat, dog, puppy, kitten, and human baby shampoo are too drying for their delicate skin.

You can also use EpiSoothe (available from the vet and in some large pet stores) or order shampoos especially made for piggies from a company in the UK called Gorgeous Guineas. I have used these products and found them to be superb.

    http://www.gorgeousguineas.com/

Piggies don't need to be washed unless really dirty, but I have Gorgeous Guineas shampoos on hand for those times when bum baths are required. :P

Good luck with your new piggies! Can I wash my guinea pigs with human or dog shampoo?
I think it's great how your getting a piggie! There SUCH a great experience to live with! Well, first of your NEVER use human shampoo on your piggie. Though, you can use gentle coat puppy shampoo or guinea pig shampoo. If your on a tight budget I recomend you buy the gentle coat puppy shampoo. Second, NEVER use soup on your piggie, it could lead to a rach or get in their eyes!

    *~Hope this helps!~*

    P.S.

    Good luck with your piggie!

(Sorry I said piggie so much!)
Dont use dog shampoo, normal human shampoo or soap. The thing I use is baby shampoo as that is safe for them or you could get special guinea pig shampoo but its probably more expensive. You wont need to wash your piggie for a while after you get it until it gets used to you tho.
dont litsen to morgan or yoursexi stalker, they are wrong. u should use guinea pig shampoo. u can try using tear free baby shampoo, but i wouldnt. u may be able to find some at petco or ur local pet store. realy anywhere you can buy guinea pigs.
hmm dog shampoo? the best shampoo i think is the shampoo they use on small animals, like rabbit shampoo is fine, I think it's located by all the rest of small animal supplies, not hard to find!
if u are gonna use human make sure its baby and dotn use a lot. rinse very well. do not use dog shampoo. i personally dont use any. plain lukewarm water works on my boys.
I'd use baby shampoo, like a tear-free kind, that way it won't burn a lot if it gets in its eyes. I wouldn't use dog shampoo cause it might poison them.
use a pea sized amount of baby shampoo, trust me. it make them smell and look amazin. :):)
don't wash them give them a box with chinchilla dust
i use human baby shampoo (use the tear free kind)

I like Suave Green Apple or Strawberry or Coconut or Milk %26amp; Honey. You might try the Herbal Essences suggestion too, but don't use anything deliberately drying and harsh like a dandruff shampoo or else that might actually be causing the overproduction of oil and grease to compensate.
This site give alot of info on oily hair.

Scroll near the bottom of the page, the reccomended shampoo is Sebum. And shampoos especially for oily hair.
Herbal Essences for sure. But i dont know the specific ';name'; of the product. And i really recommend Tresemme Moisture Rich conditioner. It really brought my hair back to life after all the oils in my hair got washed out.
I have got friends who has oily hair and I recommended them VO5 or Herbal Essences brands to help their oily hair (because I couldn't stand how they deal with it).
I like the Tressemee Deep Cleaning one. Aussie supposedly makes a good one too.

    Good luck!
Just My Style- you can do other names also, Just My Style for frizzy, straight, volume, and conditioners also.

  • Why do I get hot and sweaty whenever I eat shampoo?

I'm wondering if this is the same for everyone or if I'm just special. Why do I get hot and sweaty whenever I eat shampoo?
weridooWhy do I get hot and sweaty whenever I eat shampoo?
cause shampoo is designed for external use only; not designed to be ingested. your body is probably reacting to the chemcials that are in it, that's probably why you get all hot and sweaty.
    Maybe it's because shampoo isn't for eating. I don't know it's just a thought..

What is the best shampoo/conditioner for oily hair?

What is the best shampoo/conditioner for oily hair that can be bought at the grocery or drug store? What is the best shampoo/conditioner for oily hair?
tresseme 2 in 1 you wont go backWhat is the best shampoo/conditioner for oily hair?
Tresseme 2 in 1. I've always had oily hair and was making it worse by using harsher shampoos thinking that the stronger the shampoo, the more oil I could wash out. The opposite is the case, however, because your scalp produces oil and when it is dry it has to overcompensate by producing more oil. So use a mild, moisturizing conditioner/shampoo like the aforementioned.
Probably Treseme or Fruiticus. Those are really good. My friend had really oily hair and she used both. I tried them even though I don't have oily hair, and they smell awesome!
    Have you tried Herbal Essences?

They have the Degunkify and Drama Clean.... both work very well on oily hair. After one use, it made my hair feel so fresh and non-oily! LOVE it
Try a White Nettle product. I used to use a St Ives brand...I think it's discontinued now. But something of that ilk will work very well.
I agree with .Music., Herbal Essences make some great shampoo for oily hair.

Which is the best shampoo and conditioner?

I have long dry and damaged hair that is also highlighted. It is very weak and breaks easily from brushing. At the moment i am using shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair but i want to treat the split ends at the same time.

Is there a shampoo and conditioner that i can use for dry and damaged hair that is also for coloured hair?Which is the best shampoo and conditioner?
First as a hairstylist I'm telling you probably nothing you can buy outside of a salon is going to help you.

It sounds like your hair was highlighted with bleach. Bleach can be extremely damaging and drying to the hair if left on too long.

Call your stylist and tell her/him that you hair is breaking off since she/he highlighted. If your stylist wants to keep you as a client she/he will give you a deep conditioning free of charge.

For a while you are going to have to be careful with you hair. After you wash it don't scrub at it with the towel. Wrap the length of you hair in the towel and wring it like you would a if you were trying to remove the water from a wet towel. This will reduce the amount of tangling. Also try not to wash your hair eveyday. Unless your hair gets oily washing everyday is not only not necessary but is unhealthy for your hair, you're washing out the natural oils and conditioners it needs to stay healthy.

Apply a leave-in conditioner and comb out with a large wide-toothed comb, not a brush. This will reduce the amount of breakage by a large amount.

Before you blow-dry apply a thermal protectant to reduce the amount of heat damage.

As far as shampoo, I recommend that you get L'oreal Professional Intense Repair. For both the shampoo and conditioner you'll probably pay $40 - $50. It is more that you'd pay for a store brand but L'oreal Professional products are highly concentrated and should last you about 3 times longer.

Good LuckWhich is the best shampoo and conditioner?
I use the Schwarzkopf products, have for years and I bleach my hair at least 6 times a year but keep it quite short.

Warm olive oil is great also, a bit of a nuisance washing it out but worth the effort, makes your hair very shiny and soft.
In our family we have found the best shampoo for us is treseme,

they do a great range of all different shampoos and conditioners.

For a very large bottle it is about 拢3.00, but most shops do a special - buy 1 get 1 free,

so we tend to stock up on it.

It is worth a try, and my mum who is a hairdresser swears by it.

Also after washing your hair use a wide toothed comb and not a brush.

But for split ends i am afraid that they would have to be cut out, ideally you should have your hair trimmed every 6-8 weeks.
I also has the same problem, dry %26amp; color treated hair. I swear by 2 things. Pantene shampoo %26amp; conditioner for permed or color treated hair. I always let the conditioner sit in my hair for a minute or two. And then use a boars hair brush as it evenly distributes the natural oils in your hair. It leaves you hair feeling silky soft. I rarely have split ends now. My hair dresser tells me how heathly my hair is every time I am in %26amp; I color my hair every 6 weeks or so!
try dove... they have shampoo and conditioner for darkened and lightened hair... it works soooo well
Go back to your hairdresser and ask their advice. You could try a deep conditioning treatment, I'd recommend John Frieda and TIGI. In fact, TIGI do a a shampoo and conditioner called Dumb Blonde (yeah offensive name, huh!) and it is designed for damaged or dry coloured blonde hair. You can get it at salons, but it is a little on the expensive side.
Rehab shampoo and Retread conditioner from Lush.
I would have the split ends cut off by your hairdresser. Then I would try one of those leave in hair conditioners they advertised on the tv all the time.

Your hair is damaged from the highlighting and all the oils have been stripped out of it these need to be replaced back into your hair
the best is garnier, because it works for all different hair types and the products all have much of the same ingredient it's affordable and it last long
Hi i have blonde hair and i colour it every 6 weeks and that hppens alot to me with straightening it every day but the best thing i find i friz ease hair repair conditioner its in a sachet and is really good you can get it from boots its great stuff
Redken All Soft shampoo and conditioner.
herbal essences, it smells soooooo nice. You really go ooooohhhh in the shower, lol.

really though, i use 'Schwarzkopf Professional Bonacure' shampoo and moisture kick. They are really quite expensive and at first I thought my stylist was ripping me off. It is 拢8.00 for the bottle of shampoo and the treatment is 拢8.50 / 拢9.00. These are only available in professional hair salons. Sounds so expensive I know, but my hair shines now and when I wave it about I look like that woman in the l'oreal commercial!!
TIGI has a great line of products. I use Bed Head. I use to get my hair relaxed but since I discovered Bed Head's Moisture Maniac series I stopped the chemicals and I only use a ceramic flat iron. Moisture maniac will do wonders for all hair types. Its a worthy investment.
Clairol is brill with a full range - what about a trim for the split ends.
    Garnier Fructis
y dont you get a treatment put on your hair at the salon as it can work wonders for the shine and texture i worked in a salon and saw some disasters we only charged 拢2 for a treatment so get one a week and still shampoo and condition your hair at home but not every day coz it will loose its natural moisture and you will notice a difference
hmm...well i used to have long damaged hair as well...first off...id cut a little bit off just because thast whats prolly really making ure hair look damaged. a bit off can go a long way...after that...get some herbal essences...shampoo and conditioner...also..get either aussie or garnier fructis deep conditioner..and use that like every saturday...that should do you good...also..you can go to like a grocery store somewhere and get some coconut oil and warm it up and leave it in your hair for about 30 minutes...wash it off and just keep it going with the cleansing with the shampoos and stuff.
I use water, and eat plenty of fruit and veg...

no shampoo, no condiutioner, I just let my hair clean itself with natural oils...works fine...
I use kerestase shampoo and conditioner which i get from my salon - although quite expensive, i have found that it has made my hair much stronger and keeps split ends at bay! I have highlighted hair as well and my hairdresser told me to use it as highlighting your hair can make it weaker and this shampoo and conditioner helps stop this. Its called ';bain de force'; and comes in a green bottle - made by kerastase. Good luck! hope this helps! x
    palmolive natural shampoo try it
Try John Freida - his range is designed for coloured hair yet he has diff shampoos etc for diff sorts of hair (they do a blonde highlighted one designed for weak hair and hair prone to breakage). It is about a fiver for a shampoo but lasts ages!

Can I put tea tree oil in other products besides shampoo and conditioner?

I've been using it for years to prevent dandruff and lice but I was wondering if it can be put in stuff like straightening serums and hair spray? Can I put tea tree oil in other products besides shampoo and conditioner?
i put a drop in my face lotion

How often should I bathe my dog with flea shampoo?

I got a 9 month old beagle about a week ago %26amp; noticed he was itching a lot so I assumed he has fleas.I went out and bought some Flea shampoo %26amp; on the bottle it says it is effective for 10 days...does that mean I have to wash him every week %26amp; a half until the itching stops? Is is ok for his skin to get shampooed this much? Also, if his skin does dry out, what can I use to rub in his fur and make it better? Thank you!How often should I bathe my dog with flea shampoo?
Even if you used the shampoo already, still use the Front line stuff. You can get it at the vet's. It works amazingly well.... It's all I've ever used, and then just vacuum thoroughly. (make sure not to bathe him for the period recommended by Frontline). Good luck! How often should I bathe my dog with flea shampoo?
You ever hear the old saw about assumptions?

If you didn't get him from a reputable breeder or an ASPCA shelter, fleas are a possibility, but what you ought to have done is take him to the vet right off.

Getting a basic check-up, and making sure he's caught up on his puppy immunizations, is just basic good dog ownership. Also, though this might be from fleas, it may also be an allergy, and only a vet can tell you which. Then, too, you will want to start him on Heartgard and Frontline Plus, the easiest way to control those pests that can most seriously threaten and impair you and your pet's happy lives.

A basic rule of thumb: never self-diagnose your dog. You don't have the training, and making a mistake can do incredible damage.
Do shampoo him too often, itching doesn't necessarily mean fleas, it could be an irriation of the skin and the shampoo could make it worse.

One of my dogs used to itch when his puppy fur was coming out so this could be another reason why he is itching.

See how he goes over the next few weeks. You can get flea drops that you put on the back of their neck and that lasts for a month so you need to apply it monthly.
Yep, that's what it means. You should also use methods like flea bombs, fabric spray, drops, and flea collars. But, your best bet is to use frontline. It's expensive (about 30-40 bucks a box), but each droplet container lasts a month and you get a 3 month pack. It's the best at getting rid of fleas. And they'll be gone forever! Trust me, my 3 dogs have had fleas many times (due to my sister's inability to take care of her animals and them bring them over for a ';visit';) and frontline works like a charm! Just read the directions well. And, really, it doesn't cost that much if you compare it to the prices you'll be paying to buy shampoo and other products every week/month.
Don't. It is far too often to shampoo an dog plus flea shampoos are not much use - they get rid of a few adult fleas but the eggs and larvae hatch and the fleas come right back.

The ONLY thing that works completely and keeps fleas, eggs, and larvae off your dog are name brand topical flea preventatives - Advantix or Frontline Plus are excellent.

You apply these on the back of the dog's neck, part the hair, put on skin - and it keeps your dog flea free all month.

That simple and nothing else works anywhere near as well.

Before the liquids were invented, dogs had fleas no matter what you did. Just apply one every single month, no more fleas or ticks.
Use frontline or any of those name brands for flea treatment, don't shampoo, it dries there skin and that's way to much toxin for his body, I give my small dog a fast shower, no soap, it helps with itchiness. If you just brush him it should encourage the nature oil in his skin to come up. it's not always fleas, I have a yorkie-poo who just likes to aly in the sun, I know she's getting by something, maybe a fire-ant, (SC). she likes to sun herself :)
I buy my adult dog a flea shampoo at Wal Mart and in the summer I give the dog a flea bath once per week or every other week in the summer depending on the weather. I live down south. I do not give the dog a bath during the winter as the dog should not have a bath in cold or very cool weather. You can buy Advantage or Frontline at your vet's.
Have you SEEN fleas? If you haven't seen fleas, how do you know the itching is from fleas? Take the dog to the vet. It may have some skin problem, or allergies. But just treating for something because that is the first thing that comes to your mind, is not the way to treat a problem.

Take the dog to the vet.
Only as symptoms occur should you use this chemical that is not fragile on a thin skin such as a dog. Use it maybe, once every three weeks? But if he does not have fleas, don't waste your money, and don't hurt the beagles coat of soft fur. If it dries out, get a vetrinarian and see what they reccomend.
You need to buy Frontline Plus, it's the only flea treatment that l have found to work, flea shampoo, collars and all other pet store bought flea treatments are a waste of money, they don't work effectively.

Since l started using Frontline my two Labs haven't had a problem with fleas.
Just because you're dog is itching doesn't necessarily mean that he/she has fleas. He could have dry skin or allergies. It's important to inspect your dog's fur before bathing. Flea bath shampoo should only be used when absolutely necessary since it get utlimately make your dog sick.
If you use flea shampoo too much it could make itching worse so if you have to use one get one with oatmeal in it or a sensitive skin version. its better to get monthly flea treatments and just bath it with plain oatmeal shampoo whenever it gets dirty or stinky.
you should be PRE-treating your dog for fleas with a topical medication, not cleaning him after he gets them

most dogs don't need to be bathed more than a few times a year, it dries out their skin and can cause their coat to lose it's luster.
You should only use flea and tick shampoo as a last resort. It contains harsh chemicals that can dry out the skin and can make the dog sick if he ingests too much through licking. Try a topical flea treatment such as Frontline or Advantage. They work so much better anyway.
I agree with the first answer. Go to the vet and get some frontline or advantix. It will be so much more effective.
well i think u should wash him at least 1 every 2 months
you should use frontlin for your dogs fleas its just a little oily liquid that goes on the back of your dogs neck!
Depending on how many fleas you have in your place..it can take up to 3-4 months before you are flea free.

What the medications do from the vet..they are liquid or a pill given to your dog. The medication then goes into your dog system and starts working and continues to work for a month. The medication will do one of two things, it will either kill the adult fleas whenever they bite your dog for food or they will make it so their eggs can not hatch.

Now home remedies... some people will suggest things like dish soap and garlic.. Garlic is toxic to a dog and it should not be given to them. Dish soap may help to get rid of the fleas on your dog at that moment but it will not help kill any that jump onto your dog a few hours later..also dish soap strips out natural oils in your dogs skin so you can't use it more then once.

Other products... flea collars..most flea collars do not work. flea shampoos and powders react the same way dish soap does. Flea sprays...these can be know to be effective..but they are highly toxic and if you have baseboards your will have little success. This is b/c flea eggs and larva bury themselves really deep into the carpet and baseboards. Flea bombs...again highly toxic.

Sometimes part of this issue is outside the house. An exterminator will need to be called to deal with them.

Vacuuming... a single tool that can be helpful. This can help to pick up dead and alive adult fleas. But you have to be careful. the bag needs to be tightly closed and disposed of asap.

Do you have other pets? All pets need to be treated with the medication..this includes other dogs, cats and even rabbits. Since fleas rely on an animal blood to reproduce not giving just one animal medication can help add to the problem.

Here's a website with more information and a list of different medications used.. revolution is a well recommended brand
