Shampoo.........????

I've tried many shampoo's but none of them smell that good or work. I need some shampoo suggestions...Shampoo.........????
When I get into Albertson's I buy ';Bed Head'; products and it's like good enough for me. The cost is from $15-18 dollars on shampoo and conditioners and hair smoothing stuff. Use as much you like as long as you can afford. Another product I like is from dearinger, phyto and that's more like 30 dollars a bottle and that's so feeling good. there's better and more more more expensive but what the product is and how much? I have no idea I know that the celebrities use it. that's it for me.

bettydShampoo.........????
I like Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla. I think it's best for dry hair, but it smells really good. There a conditioner and leave-in liquid conditioner available as well.
Big Sexy Hair. simple as that. It could also depend on the products you use on your hair afterward.
HERBAL ESSENCES!!!!

the best one.
My favorite (love the smell..brings back summer memories!!) shampoo and conditioner is the yellow Loreal one...Vive Pro or something like that with Royal Jelly in it or something like that. You should find it at walmart, walgreens, etc.

Shampoo..?

What is best shampoo for greasey hair and is there an Aussie one for greasey hair i tried to look for one but there wasn't any in supermarketShampoo..?
the best for greasy hair would be gurnier fructise...sorry...dont know how to spell it. and no, Aussie does not have a shampoo for greasey hair. hope this helps. good luck!!Shampoo..?

GARNiER FRUCTiS .

it'll make your hair stronger and has certain kinds made for greasy hair .

its also affordable .
I use tresseme %26amp;%26amp; my hair looks shiny and like soft and cuddly. =)

but i think that it's just my hair type.

'cause i switch off ,

i've used Garnier Fructis , SunSilk Straighten Up , Pantene Ice Shine , and Herbal Essences.

but the best was Pantene , Garnier , and Tresseme.

Shampoo???

is there any shampoo that i can get from, lets say, Longs Drugs, that is totally natural and there are no animal ingredients or animal testing?

and is there a shampoo like that that is ';volumizing'; or however it's spelled? or ';curl enhancing';?? speaking of that, what exactly makes those two things (volumizing, curl-enhancing), that? i mean, is it very chemicaly? or is there natural curl-enhancing or volumizing shampoo that is made from all plant ingrediends? or at least not bad for the planet?? as in not majorly chemicaly. thank you so much. answers to any of those questions will be appreciated a lot. thanks!!!Shampoo???
You can go to caringconsumer.com and find out which products are tested on animals and which ones aren't. You can make your choices from there. It's a very informative website.Shampoo???
i used aveda and it doesn't work 4 my hair try sunsilk straight one it works really well i swear by it. Report Abuse

I work at an aveda salon, and everything Aveda is pure plant and flower, and not tested on animals. Its more on the expensive side, but everything is very concentrated so you get more for your money. Volumizing shampoo's just coat the hair and make them appear thicker, and curl enhancing shampoos only work if you have curl. If you have poker straight hair, a curl enhancing shampoo wont magically make you have curly hair. They have to have something to work with, and all they do is moisturize the hair for a bouncier, frizz free curl.

Should I use a flea shampoo or a flea collar?

My cat has fleas. We rescued her from the street and we need to know what we should use. We have heard bad things about flea collars. She is 7-9 weeks of age.

Thank You!Should I use a flea shampoo or a flea collar?
You can buy flea drops accually, it works a whole lot better than the flea shampoo and the flea collar. You can buy them at the nearest animal hospital.Should I use a flea shampoo or a flea collar?
Neither one - flea collars are useless, and most of the over the counter flea shampoos are not safe for use in kittens under 12 weeks of age - they can cause toxic reactions that include foaming at the mouth, seizures, and death. Call the vet and get her a safe and effective flea treatment like Advantage or Frontline. It will actually work, and work safely.
I would buy Frontline. It is the best on the market. It lasts a month. You place the liquid on the back of her neck, parting the fur. Check with the vet to make sure it's ok since she is pretty young.

Flea collars just don't really work. She might be too young for a flea bath. You really should check with the vet and see what suggestions they have.
well collars traditionally do not work well. the very best you can do is speak to a vet and get a preventative/killer like frontline. you apply it topically and they work great. in loo of that, use a bath...its far more affective then the collar.
You should use a flea collar nothing is bad about them they work great and besides the shampoo does not work

1.Cats don't like baths

2. You have to give her a bath every day

3. It can be expensive

4. It doesn't work

So no shampoo.
theres a medication you can put on her but i would look at all of them they might have a age requirment
I don't think flea collars work very well. The shampoo would be best, but make sure it's safe for kittens.
Take her to the vet and get a topical treatment, much more effective.
Flea Shampoo
use frontline! its better than anything! frontline frontline frontline!!!
use what the vet recommended.
then so use shampoo!

espessily when shes young

well seeings everyone has ignored the fact you only use salon products.....

you should try redkens anitsnap line. its in the dark blue bottle. it works wonders. find a salon that has a generous return policy and you can pick a couple different kinds and return what doesnt work for you. also try redkens conditioning treatment, it will treat what the breakage if from, whether it is from chemical or mechanical abuse.

I need advice on a shampoo to use to make my hair black and shiny?

I used to have black shiny hair. But, for the past year, it has been exposed to the sun and the top is starting to look brownish. Could anyone recommend anything, shampoos or creams that I could use.I need advice on a shampoo to use to make my hair black and shiny?
beleive it or not, i had a similar prob when i had gone to india for 2 years. i have light brown hair, which had turned light brown, and had become very very dry and wiry and looked like i was from a desert in rajasthan or sth!

and i tried everyhing from oiling it to straightening(which made it dry). and i even tried loads of products like serums(silk n shine and livon) and conditioners and leave in conditioners. but none of them seemed to work for my super damaged hair. they work if ur hair is normal and it can take it.mine couldnt.it had started looking more like a carpet.

so i read abt it in this book i have, which said there was a nnatural cure to it. so thats what i did.

just take a good amt of curd and put it in your hair 15 mins before ur bath, and later on u can shampoo and then condition as normal.itll make ur hair ur natural colour(actually black!!), and makes it super soft, shiny(really shiny) and straighter.

it becomes very very smooth. so u dont have frizzy hair.

i assure u itll be better.

ive got my old hair back.I need advice on a shampoo to use to make my hair black and shiny?
i think that garine frutist makes a great product called sleek and shine, their shampoo, conditioner, and deep conditioners are good. i guess some oilve oil lotion would help to my hair shiny from using those prodcuts even thought thats not my goal from using them good luck!

    GET A HAIR CUT
bio log or if you are on a budget get clarol herbal essence
Only way to get rid of split ends, is by getting them trimmed off.
If your trying to grow your hair out first you need to cut off the dead ends it'll grow faster this way. Where ever you get your hair cut watch what they use on your hair if you like it you should use the same products. Too pricey? I like leave in conditioners like TRESemme Restore i use it everyday and love it!!

A moisturizing or smoothing shampoo. You should follow up with an intense conditioner or a leave in conditioner.
you will need conditioner as well as shampoo. If you want hair like a girl, you gotta do the work. Shampoo just wont cut it! Try using ION conditioner daily and their deep treatment weekly.
I don't think the type of shampoo matters. Your hair probably looks frizzy due to your split ends. First, cut off all of your split ends, and keep them cut on a monthly basis, if needed. You may also want to try an hot oil treatment immediately after.
Before that, trim your hair to get rid off your split ends. Maintain it by using baby shampoo. It's mild and it cleans without the presence of other ingredients which build up on your scalp. After you rinse, use a conditioner (Loreal is good) Note: You don't have to use shampoo everyday. Just every other day. Using it everyday will dry your scalp. Good luck.
anti-friz go to the store and read the bottle for what you need for your hair
fructis shampoo, conditioner and anti-split ends treatment. it works really well but you are also going to have to trim your hair every six weeks to get rid of all the split ends.

How do I rinse out all the shampoo/conditioner in my hair?

I'm currently studying abroad in Italy and the water pressure in our shower is a little weak. Unfortunately, it does not get out all the shampoo and conditioner. I tried using less, tried not using conditioner and tried not using anything, but nothing seems to work. Any tips? Thanks! How do I rinse out all the shampoo/conditioner in my hair?
Is the shower in the tub? If there is a tub faucet, turn on the water there and still your head under it. The pressure is usually stronger. You can also use the bathroom sink as an alternative, if you can get your head under the faucet. Also, if you have a plastic pitcher, you can fill it up under the shower head and pour from it.

Good luck! How do I rinse out all the shampoo/conditioner in my hair?
rinse longer and make sure you're using your hands to get it out (as opposed to just relying on the water pressure to do it)
See if the pressure is better through the bathtub faucet and hold your head under it. Or maybe wash your hair in a sink.

ok so im an african american and im wondering if i should use vive pro or garnier for my hair. which one is better and would still give me a shine and make it stronger. because i want it stronger so it will break less and grow more help?Shampoo???
The best shampoo to buy is that from a salon.

If you use shampoo from a supermarket you may as well be washing your hair with washing up liquid and using fabric softener as a conditioner.

When you buy from a salon the ingredients are very different. they are not a harsh on your hair.

If you go into a salon and tell them what you want they will be able to recommend the best thing. There are so many different ones. it is trial and error

You need to shampoo your hair twice, first shampoo cleans the hair and scalp and second shampoo does what the shampoo is designed to do. You should only use a small amount of conditioner. Your hair isn't meant to feel soft and silky while in the shower and if it does you are using too much. Just put a small amount through comb with a wide tooth comb and leave while you Wash you self. You will be amazed how you hair will feel when it is dried. that's when you want it to feel soft and silky

    Good luckShampoo???

What is the best shampoo or wash to wash your professional powder brushes with?

i have a really bad problem with acne i break out easily and also have very sensitive skin so i cant use products with alot of fragrance and stuff.

ive heard baby shampoo works great but i wanted to be sure. my brushes are new and quite expensive so i dont want to mess them upWhat is the best shampoo or wash to wash your professional powder brushes with?
MAC brush cleanser works extremely well, but I find that I end up using quite a bit because it's very concentrated and watery, so you tend to use more. It's wonderful, though, and worth the pricey tag if you shop at MAC, as you can put your empty bottles towards Back2MAC, so when you accumulate 6 empty products (lipstick, eyeshadow, pigment, blush, etc.), you can take them to the store and get a free lipstick of your choice!

You can also get a cheap ULTA brand brush cleanser from ULTA, they work really well and leave little residue if washed out thoroughly.

Basically, you can use foam hand soap, baby shampoo, or pretty much anything you want...just don't use fortifying shampoos or anything like that which may strip and trash your brushes. I use my redken all soft shampoo on my huge, fluffy powder brushes, and it makes them SUPER soft. :]What is the best shampoo or wash to wash your professional powder brushes with?
Yes, I've heard baby shampoo is gentle for washing the brushes, but does the manufacturer of the brushes have a special soap that they make specifically for those brushes? If they are quite expensive, chances are they do. If not, and you are sensitive, I would choose a non-scented soap, or something like Aveno which is more hypo-allergenic. Just be sure to rinse them well.

    Good luck with that!
Yes baby shampoo works fine, I also like to put conditioner on mine, in between washing you can use a brush cleaner I like to use the one by Ben Nye, do not submerge your brushes under water or use hot water. You can read more about brush care on my site at http://www.naloinc.com
The shampoo I've used has never made a difference to my brushes. As long as you rinse them properly with warm water there should be no problems.

What is the best shampoo/conditioner for dry scalp?

I have tried Neutrogena, Avon, and H%26amp;S. A long time ago, I used the T-gel and I think I have even tried Paul Mitchell's Tea Tree. I think that one worked really well, but it was pricey. What is an affordable yet effective shampoo for dry scalp? What is the best shampoo/conditioner for dry scalp?
    Try Dove Therapy shampoo/conditioner.

It really works =)What is the best shampoo/conditioner for dry scalp?
Any shampoo or conditioner that has T-Tree oil in it will work wonders. I would also suggest not washing everyday (if you have to just do a cool water rinse) to let your scalp produce its natural hair olis.
I prefer Head and Shoulders.......Nexxus...............and Tresemme..........sure they can be pricey but it's your hair that counts.Think about getting your hair washed everyday in a salon..............that approx. costs about $30.Wouldn't you pay $5-$10?
try head and shoulders and then after you wash it then grease your scalp at least twic a week because grease will wear your hair now especially with two much grease.
i use this tea shampoo, its in a green squarish container, and I don't have my scalp ish as all it like cools your scalp. sorry but i can't think of the name and i just ran out. I think i got it at a nutrition store they are always the best for your hair.
Dove therapy shampoo/conditioner i use it its awesome
Try Neutrogena... they are bit pricy but work really well and you do not have to use them daily, use them 1 or 2x a week. If you have really bad dry scalp, nothing over the counter will help you since you are probably inflicted with psoraisis (spelling?). You should seek the assistance of a dermatologist if its that bad.
U could try head and shoulders or just look at shampoo bottles and check to c if its for dry scalp.
try laying off the products and let your natural oils come through.

What is the best shampoo for dyed black hair?

You would definitly want a shampoo for color treated hair. If you are wanting it to stay healthy and dont fade i would definitly go to a salon and get one from ther cause the cheaper brands dont do very good. Tips To Stop Hair Loss %26amp; Keep Healthy Hair Here are some hair care tips that you can use to help stop hair loss and keep your existing hair healthy and looking great. Please don't take these tips lightly. They are very important . The only thing they require is your time and commitment.

    - Massage your scalp with your fingertips (not your nails) daily to stimulate and promote circulation to your scalp and reduce excess fallout. Invert your head while you shampoo %26amp; massage your scalp. This helps promote blood circulation to the head.

    - Essential oils %26amp; tea . To stimulate scalp circulation, massage the scalp with rosemary essential oil or rinse hair with tea made from sage.

    - Comb or brush your hair and scalp gently in the morning and at night. This helps break up hardened oils (sebum) that are clogging your hair follicles. Doing this alone has produced new hair growth. Do not over do combing or brushing.

    - keep a distance from dryer's heat. When using blow dryers, always keep the heat a good distance from your scalp and hair. Avoid heating the scalp and hair excessively. Excessive heat will increase hair loss, and excess fallout.

    - Avoid getting hair creams, lotions, styling gels and sprays directly on the scalp as they will clog your hair follicles. Use a light hold spray if you must.

    - After swimming in a pool, shampoo your hair as soon as possible to remove any chlorine residue. Chlorine is extremely damaging to the hair and scalp.

    - Avoid over-exposing your hair and scalp to the wind and sun. Good hair care over a long period really makes a difference!

    - Avoid tight hats and caps as they contribute to poor circulation, depriving the hair of proper nutrition and stunting new hair growth. The sweat, dirt and grime around the rim inhibit follicle health and contribute to build-up.

    - Always consult your health care provider for extreme causes of excess fallout and thinning. A medical condition or medication could be causing hair loss side-effects.

    - Strive for balance and harmony in both your personal and professional lifestyle. High stress factors can cause your body to react by fluctuating hormone levels. This in turn causes excessive oil secretion (sebum) which results in hair loss.

    - Pregnancy, nursing, menopause, and even birth control medication can cause constant changing factors on your nutritional needs and hormonal levels which contribute to hair loss and excess fallout.

    - Avoid ';crash and fad'; diets. Proper nutritious meals along with vitamin and mineral supplements are a key factor for healthy hair and skin.

    - Good hair care starts with awareness. These hair care tips, if followed consistently, will reduce excess fallout, hair loss, and promote new hair growth.

    - Reduce hair loss effects by increasing your intake of vitamin C found in fresh fruits and vegetables, particularly citrus fruit and juices, parsley, broccoli, green peppers and black currants. Take a vitamin B complex everyday or brewers yeast. Increase your intake of protein found in meat, fish, liver, wheat germ, dried cooked beans and peas, tofu, cheese, milk and eggs.

    - Take dietary supplements such as Vitamin B6, zinc %26amp; saw palmetto. Supplements are useful when you can't get enough from natural food sources.

    - The Chinese believe that hair is nourished by the blood, and therefore influenced by the kidney %26amp; liver. Treatment is aimed at these organs using fleece flower root, wolfberry fruit or mulberry fruit.

    - Eliminate stress or else it can be disastrous to your precious hair!

    - Get enough sleep. Sleeping well is essential for the health of your hair as well as for the rest of your body.

There are ways you can help stop the grease from appearing but you have to work at it.

Do not wash everyday. The cleaner your hair is the more it can seep into your glands and harder it is to get rid of. When you do wash make sure you are washing with a cleaning shampoo and scrubbing the build up off. Take in mind that you also have to have a ph-balanced mild shampoo and lite scrubbing is recommended. Try to avoid conditioner at the roots, apply in the middle or on the ends.

Try to avoid oil in your daily food intake. And do eat more vegetables. You could visit your doctor but only after you check and consider your diet, drugs, alcohol, and your fatty food intake. Let's face it we see what McDonalds can do to your heart in a month, can you image your hair. You would be dripping everywhere.

Maybe it's time to change your shampoo. Ask your stylist what she or he would recommend. Avoid using shine products at all costs. Keep away from two-in-one shampoos and conditioners and any frizz serums.

To fix at the moment, rub a little Talcum Powder on your dried hair at the roots. Just make sure you wash it out. I wish they would event that magic product, but this will help until they do.

Here are 10 tips for to keep your hair strong, smooth, shiny and beautiful!

    1. Keep your diet balanced, and eat protein and calcium rich foods. Stay away from junk foods! This is essential for healthy hair.

    2. Foods and supplements to nourish your hair:

    * Beans

    * Yogurt

    * Almonds

    * Vitamin B

    * Fish

    * And of course, the magic potion for beauty - WATER

    3. Before washing your hair, comb it well to make sure all knots has been loosened from your hair.

    4. Before applying shampoo, use warm water (35 to 38 degrees Celsius) to run through your hair to rinse and wet it thoroughly.

    5. When applying shampoo or conditioner, don't use your fingernails to scrape through your hair. Instead, use your palm and fingertips to massage your scalp and hair gently, in circular motions. This will help the circulation and also help to keep your hair shiny and smooth.

    6. After rinsing away all the shampoo, run water over your hair for at least another half a minute (3 minutes is best) to ensure there are no remains of shampoo remaining in your hair, since this will cause a great deal of damage to your scalp.

    7. When applying hair treatment products, do so just after you have washed your hair, so that your hair can absorb all the good stuff while it is half wet. This will be the best time for it to absorb nourishment.

    8. NEVER go to bed with your hair wet! Hair that is half wet is most easily broken, and if you sleep during this time, your hair will be rubbing against each other, damaging your hair in the most terrible way.

    9. Too much pressure may lead to hair loss! Relax... try some good relaxation methods such as soaking in a nice scented bath, listening to music, and eating healthy comfort foods such as strawberries and grapes.

    10. Perming and coloring seriously damages your hair. Avoid it as much as possible. Also, when using hair setting products such as gel or putty, use as little as possible, because they hurt your scalp and hair. Wash them out thoroughly afterwards with a shampoo specially created for removing styling products. How many times to shampoo a weeK?
selsun blue...and don't dump shampoo on your head...put a quarter size in your hands, rub together, start at ends and work your way up. ... SELSUN blue is good for psorisis too, cradle cap, dandruff...
dont shamppoo everyday! that is what is making your scalp dry. try every other day (4 shampoo days)
Even though you sweat heavily everyday, maybe your not sweating on your head so it is dry. Another thing is that when you shampoo your hair too much, it becomes too dry. Also, oily hair is actually just dry hair which keeps on making more oils because it's so dry...

    Take those all into consideration..
Im shampooing my hair 4 to 5 times a week.
do not use a clarifying shampoo or one of those daily shampoos. Use a shampoo/conditioner combo - it will help your dry scalp.

dont listen to people who tell you not to shampoo every day.. if you think you need it, then do it. you may also want to go to a dermatologist - i know they gave me a liquid to apply for when my scalp is really dry or when i have an eczema patch.
Shampoo your hair if you think you need it. They say to do it at least every other day because the natural oils on your scalp are good for your hair. If your scalp is dry, try using some Tea tree shampoo and conditioner.
Everyday. I used to do hair and there is nothing worse than the smell of dirty hair! Also, you wash your face every day, right?...well, your hair goes through all the same stuff as your face, plus all the goop you throw on it...think about that...if your scalp is getting dry, try Paul Mitchell tea tree shampoo on your scalp only (too drying on hair), be sure to condition your hair with a good product (I prefer Paul Mitchell, Joico, or Redken).

    Hi,

If your hair is naturally honey coloured you could try replenish shampoo for dry, coarse hair and replenish Conditioner for dry, coarse hair or if your hair is coloured your could try GHD guardian shampoo for colour-treated hair and guardian conditioner for colour-treated hair . They make your hair feel great i personally use the colour one as i have dyed Red hair, and it keeps the colour in and keeps it really soft and shiny with out leaving my hair greasy and heavy.

What is the best shampoo to use for thick, semi-frizzy medium length hair?

I have really thick hair. It gets a little frizzy often but i can only make it go away by using a hair straightener. What are some good shampoos to use so i dont have to straighten my hair everyday. I want to be able to leave it down after washing it without having to worry about the frizziness. I have tried the common shampoos like garnier fructis, pantene, herbal essences, suave, etc. any suggestions? What is the best shampoo to use for thick, semi-frizzy medium length hair?
you shood use TRESemme. Because it is a good shampoo for thick hair. My hair stilest uses it.What is the best shampoo to use for thick, semi-frizzy medium length hair?
The absolute best is the hot new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! They have different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Kroger, Albertsons, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. Its the best! You'll love it!

Try Mixed Chicks shampoo. Then follow with their leave-in. They actually made a product that is unique. So many hair companies take a decent product and just change one ingredient and so it just does the same as the original. Mixed Chicks system actually works and it works better than anything else I've tried..
Tresemme is great. I love it.

You should also use a leave-in conditioner to tame the frizz. Try Bed Head Ego Boost - it's great too!

    Stay away from Pantene.

Is using a lice shampoo more than the once every 7 days dangerous?

My daughter contracted lice from her cousins and we are trying to be proactive about it. Ca we use the lice shampoo more than they recommend, like after 2 days, or is it really dangerous??Is using a lice shampoo more than the once every 7 days dangerous?
Side effects may include temporary itching or tingling The most frequent side effect of lice shampoo is itching, which is also known as pruritus. This condition is most often a result of the scabies or head lice infestation, and may be heightened after treatment. Oral antihistamines and/or topical corticosteroids can help relieve the itchiness.

When using the 5% cream form of permethrin for scabies, some patients report a mild burning or stinging sensation, mild temporary itchiness, tingling, numbness, mild erythema, edema or rash. The 5% lotion form (for scabies) can lead to similar side effects.

Frequent use will increase you chances of having these side effectsIs using a lice shampoo more than the once every 7 days dangerous?
You should wait the recommended 7 day period. Using after just 2 days is overdoing it. Any lice she may have will likely not have hatched yet and the shampoo does nothing to kill the nits. Get a fine comb and some good lighting and get nit picking. That's what really gets rid of headlice.

Can i use normal shampoo straight after using hair dye?

I'm dying my hair now with a home dye kit, but i'm wondering while washing it off can i use my normal shampoo after i've rinsed the colour out. It says use the conditioner that comes with it but i'll use that after my shampoo.

Is that ok to do?Can i use normal shampoo straight after using hair dye?
Yes you can, but make sure you have rinsed your hair out properly so the colour settles, once it's dyed, it's dyed there's no problem with using shampoo, make sure you use LOTS of conditioner though, I think this is people's main mistake when they dye their hair they forget it damages it a bit, conditioner is very good for it.Can i use normal shampoo straight after using hair dye?
No! Don't shampoo it. Heres why -

After dyeing your hair, the colour hasn't 'settle' in yet. Do NOT shampoo it for about 24 hours. Conditioner, however, seals the cuticle on the hair and stops colour escaping too much.

Just rinse your hair with warm water after dyeing till the water runs clear. The leave the conditioner on about 10-20 mins (it'll say like 5 mins but it feels nice if you leave it on longer) then wash it out.

Also, don't worry about your hair being unclean. Hair dye is almost like an extremely strong shampoo - it will take all the dirt and oils out of your hair and dry it out. It might not feel dry, but it will be. So don't worry about it not being clean.
No, your not suppose to wash your hair for 24-48 hours after home colouring hair. It dulls the colour and may make your hair turn undesirable colours. Shampoo is full of harsh chemicals that are likely to react badly with the hair dye. Wait 24 hrs before shampooing your hair!
    Certainly!
    I wouldn't..

Just use the conditioner you got with it to be on the safe side.

Don't worry, your hair will still look fine :) x
yes dont see why not, that sounds fine to me but make sure you use conditioner.
your supposed to use a ph balancer x
yes but dont rub your scalp too hard.
Yes it's fine, it doesn't react with anything. All safe =D
    Yes - it's fine
use Garnier Fructis. it is great!
    yes it fine :D

How often should I shampoo my son's hair to get rid of cradle cap?

I know most people say to only shampoo once a week, but his scalp gets VERY flaky and the flakes get all over him and whoever is holding him.How often should I shampoo my son's hair to get rid of cradle cap?
Shampooing frequently won't help, but I'm not sure where you got the once a week rule. Try gently brushing his hair when dry to loosen those flakes. Our pediatrician said it was fine to use over-the-counter cortisone cream for the crusty spots on his face.

Check out this link for more info. How often should I shampoo my son's hair to get rid of cradle cap?
Take light Olive Oil (Light- because regular smells wayyyy too strong), rub it in his hair twice a day for a few days (wash it out after about 10 mins). Should work somewhat well. Old Italian trick...makes their skin super soft if you use it like baby lotion haha
my dd had some flakes starting up, ped said to soak her head in baby oil, let it soak in for a while, brush gently with a soft toothbrush, wash hair and gently brush again to remove remaining flakes, rinse, dry, comb....i put one of those hats from the hosp on her head while it was oily (they are good for something!)

so it wasn't everywhere....worked like a charm, no probs since; when i wash her hair now, i still use the soft toothbrush on the shampoo, but that's just paranoia bc i haven't seen flakes since i did it the first time, although it did take a bit of work to get alll that oil out..gl
rub baby oil on his head and with a baby comb gently comb out the excess.

It is more annoying to you than him

this wil take some time to go away... it will become less and less over time.....shampoo and condition baby's head -
Well..... they say less is better for cradle cap. But..... I find a good brushing and then a good scrubbing on his head really helps clear it up. I would say you could do it more then once a week.

A recommendation from my doctor was to use olive oil. This is definitely a two person job..... because baby gets very slippery..... and it takes a while and a couple of shampoos to get it out. I only use the olive oil trick when my sons cradle cap has gotten really out of control.

Apply the olive oil 10- 30 minutes before the bath. Then give him a really good brushing...... and then you need to give him a major bath. I usually have to shampoo 2-3 times after wards to get his hair nice and clean. But seriously..... its works.

You can also use dandruff shampoo..... such as head and shoulders...... this works well. I would also reccomend having someone help you with this bath too..... just to ensure you don't get any into the eyes. my doctor says its totally safe to use on baby.

Do you have a fine tooth comb...... these work way better then the brush...... to get the flakes out. I received a fine tooth baby comb in a toiletry baby kit...... and its been my best cradle cap friend. Another thing I do to help prevent it from coming back...... is I keep a comb or brush on his diaper changer. Every time I change a diaper...... i give his scalp a brushing. This is a good way to remember to do it frequently and also a handy time to do it.

I have also seen a cradle cap care kit at the store. I saw one at k-mart..... i did not purchase it..... but it looked like it had some handy tools and shampoo in there. That may be worth looking into.

    Best of luck to you.
Rub a lil baby oil on his head and the flakes will slide out while your comb his hair
First Rub some baby oil all over his scalp and wait 15mins so it softens the cradle cap and is easier to get rid of, then after the 15mins passed take a baby comb and comb it backwards so it lifts up from his scalp. Do that to his entire head and then give him a bath and wash his hair. Do that 2-3 times a week, babies should only be bathe 3 times a week.

it will go away by it's self

Cradle cap can usually be helped by shampooing the baby's hair with a mild type of baby shampoo (perhaps more frequently than usual) and brushing with a very soft bristle brush to loosen the scales. You can also use a fine-toothed comb to remove the scales. What I found to work the best is the Aveeno baby wash and shampoo. It worked wonders for my son's cradle cap. I wouldn't bathe your baby everyday though, cause that will dry his skin out. Bathe your baby once every two days.

A mild soap should be used to wash any other body areas that are affected besides the hair and scalp. If the cradle cap symptoms also occur on the face and/or in the diaper area make sure a pediatrician is consulted. It is important to contact your pediatrician before using a medicated shampoo or cortisone creams.

In some cases, the doctor may prescribe an ointment containing hydrocortisone to reduce inflammation for this condition, and may also recommend use of a stronger antiseborrhic shampoo. If the condition worsens or lasts longer than three weeks, be sure to contact your baby's doctor.

I have been washing my daughter's hair every two days with her bath...But to get rid of her cradle cap when she was a baby (15months now), I rubbed baby oil on her head really good, then i used a soft bristled baby brush and massaged it on her head really good, then I gave her a bath to wash it out. I may have had to do that 2 times in order for it to go away completely.
I put lanolin oil in my daughters hair and let it sit for about an hour and it never came back. Only 1 use and it was completely gone. She is 6 months now. At the time she might of been about 2 months old but so far so good it hasnt returned. i used the oil that you put onyour nipples when you are breastfeeding. It is non toxic and vey light and I actually worked for her craddle cap after one use.
Are you breastfeeding? If so, go on a dairy elimination diet and see if that helps.

You can also try treating it with a fungal cream (like for athlete's foot). Some people put olive oil on, let it sit/soften, then comb out.

My hairdresser just told me not to use baby-ish shampoos as the pH balance can create cradle cap. You can use baking soda as a shampoo, or really carefully, adult shampoo. Wash only as often as truely needed. If he's not eating with his hands, or rolling around in the dirt, once a week would be enough.
I give my 6 week old a bath every other day since he doesn't get that dirty, the day's he doesnt get a bath i wipe his face hands and feet and butt area with a warm washcloth

He had cradle cap to and it is now away with sue of baby oil or baby gel and lotion
Buy some head and shoulders shampoo. Put a little on the baby's head and brush it in with a soft brush. Finish up with the rest of the bath then rinse it off. It worked wonders for our daughter. Be careful though because if it gets into their eyes it burns pretty bad. Good luck
A good way to do that is to put some baby oil on his head for a while before bath time and use a comb in the opposite direction the hair grows, to gently get rid of some of the flaking. Our nanny taught us that and it really worked. My son still has cradle cap at 8 months, but not nearly as bad as when he was newborn.

well this isn't a shampoo or conditioner but Dr. Miracle works pretty well it's call gro oil makes your scalp feel really good

Wheatgerm shampoo/conditioner. But there is a home remedy for this problem. Take a cup of fenugreek seeds and soak them in water for a couple of hours. blend with water in a blender to get a paste. apply the paste in your scalp and let it remain for half an hour to 45 mins. Rinse without using any shampoo, preferably under a running tap and not shower. it is a great natural conditioner and is also a cleanser. Also try massaging some good oil like coconut, almond or any other that you may get in your country, in your scalp once a week and wrap your head in hot towels to allow your pores to open. Then wash with the fenugreek paste. You will see good results in a month. Your hair will be shiny and your scalp healthy. The key to keep naturally dry type of scalp free from itching is to wash it once a week or twice at the most if you must. But be sure that you oil your scalp atleast once a week before washing.

What's a good shampoo/conditioner for long brown hair?

I'm a guy and I've been growing my hair out the past few months, and as it's gotten longer, it's become more and more unmanageable. I'll wash it 2 or 3 times with Pert Plus, but within seconds of stepping out of the shower, it's all tangly and dehydrated-feeling. Any tips on keeping my hair softer and more controllable? What's a good shampoo/conditioner for long brown hair?
I found that the Tresseme line is one of the best I have tried. I tried Pantene and it's garbage. It made my hair greasy. I like the John Frieda line too. Pert Plus isn't that great of a shampoo, especially if it is a 2 in 1 shampoo/conditioner.

If you want to deep condition, leave it in longer than the bottle says. And as for a detangler, you can use Johnson's detangler for kids, or Sleek Look by Matrix. What's a good shampoo/conditioner for long brown hair?
john frieda's brilliant brunette collection made my brown hair dry. You need to drop a little $$ and get a moisturizing shampoo such as paul mitchell and get a moisturizing conditioner (try to get both products made by the same manufacturer- And then- if you have time, try to deep condition your hair once a week- if that is ridiculous to you- just by a spray-in leave-in conditioner that also detangles. (you spray it on when you get out of the shower and it detangles and makes it shiny, and continued use makes your hair more managable.) I recommend thermasilk leave-in conditioner and detangler (especially if you blowdry your hair. good luck!

For internal nourishment you need Vitamin A, B 6, B 12 and E plus proteins.

External nourishment can also be deep oil treatment with coconut or almond oil but to strengthen my hair roots and to hydrate my scalp I use Ziravie lotion which has coconut, olive, avocado and Aragan oil plus herbs.

The best shampoo I have come accross is Ziravie. It is pH balanced and fruit based.

Does anybody know a shampoo or something that helps reduce frizz?

My hair used to be naturally frizzy. Then I got a straight perm. This happened about 1 1/2 months ago. Now my hair is starting to grow out from the roots, and there are randomly ugly-frizzy hairs sticking out from my scalp. Does anybody know a shampoo/conditioner set that would help reduce the oncoming frizz?Does anybody know a shampoo or something that helps reduce frizz?
    anti-frizz sunsilk

its a green bottle, about $5 for a 250 mls bottleDoes anybody know a shampoo or something that helps reduce frizz?
AVON does! Seriously, try their Straightening Shampoo.I have naturally curly hair and I wash mine daily. I really like Avon's straightening shampoo, it doesn't straighten my hair but it really tames the little frizzies on top and it's 1.99 a bottle! As far as styling products these are my favorite (in order):

    1. Aussie Sydney Smooth 24 hr humidity control hair spray

    2. Samy (green can) mousse

    3. If you can't find Samy then try the short squatty can of Aussie Mousse

    4. Finesse Curly hair mousse

Wash your hair and put up in towel. Leave for about 5 mins in towel, then brush and apply the mousse from the bottom up. You have to make sure to get the ends since this is what holds your curls together and just use the tiny amounts left on your hands for the top. If you part your hair on top (like I do, so I have a swooping bang), then part and top with a dime sized amount of mousse. I promise this will work and your hair will look amazing! You can either let it air dry or use a diffuser to dry your hair. If you diffuse it will be curlier. Do not brush or play with your hair once styled....it will fro! Happy Styling!

bumble and bumble. you can get it at salons for $20.00 I think. i don't remember, but it works really well and makes your hair feel so silky!! Good luck!

  • What is a good shampoo/conditioner for thick-medium length hair?

My Daughter who is twelve neeeds a good shampoo/conditioner that will detangle her very thick hair, leave it smooth and easy to manage. It is medium length, not very long. What is a good shampoo/conditioner for thick-medium length hair?
ehh.. I don't like cheap shampoos for my hair.

I would use something from a salon, it's a little more expensive, but works wayy better. I never use herbal essences or suaave.

Try matrix, or biolage (sometimes they even have $25 liter sales) which is not that bad. Back to basics works well too.

    I like this new shampoo I am using becuase it makes my hair feel very clean, it's by rusk called...';full';

I also use indian oil on my hair a few times a week at night, and wash it out in the morning. It can be a little messy, you may want to cover her pillow, but my hair is super soft and manageble. (My indian friend turned me onto it...she has beautiful hair!!) You can buy it at any ethnic indian store-

There are tons of great leave in conditioners as well,

I like bed head- split end mender

    and kenra, leave-in spray conditoner.

I have started using sunsilk and I absolutely love it. It makes my hair feel so soft, smells good and gives it really good volume.
Aussie Awesome Volume!!! I love it
    Pantene

    Tresemme

    Aussie Mega

    Nexxus
tresseme (i think i spelled it right) i dont think its expensive, and it gives some ';wave'; (not curls) to my hair. it also makes it really shiny! it has a pretty good scent, just the usual. its super moisturizing. shampoo comes in a black bottle and conditioner comes in a white bottle. i hope i helped!
I started using Pantene Pro V Brunette Expressions and that is wonderful!!!! It smells so good and it leaves my hair soft and silky. I know people always say that Pantene is bad for your hair but I have asked my hair stylist and she said NO shampoo is bad for your hair you just must change up your shampoo cuz all shampoos and conditioners build up. Hope I helped.
