Fill your carpet shampooer with plain water. Use it over the area, same as if you were shampooing. Don't soak the water onto the carpet! Light, even coats. Vacuum with the shampooer each time you go over the area with plain water to pull the water back up. Keep doing this until the water comes back up clear.
If you don't have a carpet shampooer... you need a wet/dry shop vac! You'll have to vacuum up as much as you can get out of the carpet. Spray clean water onto the area, rub it in a little and vacuum up. Repeat until water starts coming up clean (well, as clean as it can get).
Don't use your regular vacuum cleaner... please! Go to WalMart, if you have to! Only a wet/dry shop vacuum will survive!
set up a wire tie up between two poles and hang the carpet on the wire and spray or if you are strong enough soak the carpet and let it suck the water and hang until the water drips and dry
The product you can use is called defoamer. Lots of janitorial companies use it.
They have a product that will stop the suds, they use it in Jacuzzi's so I'm sure it will work on carpet
u can go to a pool/spa place and get a anti-foaming liquid......we use it in our outside spa, i would think it would stop the foaming and allow u to take r carpet cleaning machine and suck up the remaining liquid......
try salt. That is what they say to put in your dishwasher if it is sudsing from regular soap being put in.

Semi permanent colours only last a certain number of washes anyway. A standard semi can last up to 8 washes and a quasi up to 16 washes. So if you don't want it to fade quickly don't wash your hair as often.

I would say leave it just a few days, and use a shampoo for coloured hair ie Dove or what ever make you perfer.
Give it at leaste 48 hours so it gives it time to settle in you cant stop it from fading or washing out as it is a semi permanent colour but after your first wash the color will look better as the top layer of the colour always looks slightly dull and masked but after the colour has faded you find you realy liked the colour then go for a permanent next time it lasts longer x

Give it at leaste 48 hours so it gives it time to settle in you cant stop it from fading or washing out as it is a semi permanent colour but after your first wash the color will look better as the top layer of the colour always looks slightly dull and masked but after the colour has faded you find you realy liked the colour then go for a permanent next time it lasts longer x

I think they say you should wait at least a day, so I'd say by Sunday morning should be good. You can wet it down if you need to, but avoid shampoo and conditioner for tomorrow at least.

You can shampoo tomorrow if you want....semi-permanent will wash out a little bit at a time...permanent last a bit longer but eventually fades as well, call a beauty salon if your curious, they might better assist you.
The less you wash it, the longer the colour will stay in.
Or to put it this way, every wash steals some colour.
Wait as long as you can between each wash. Usually, my hairdresser tells me, hair is fine even if it is washed every second or even every third day. (Well, that depends on your lifestyle, of course, smoky pubs or a hard workout requires washing...)

Which is the right shampoo for fine hair?
I have fine (thin) hair and a lot of it. Its a little wavy and is effected by the humidity in the air. It seems that my hair is either a large pooof ball or is so flat. I am currently using Fructis Sleek %26amp; Shiney but I think my hair has gotten used to it. I also use a leave in conditioner but I don't remember which brand.

One of the girls at the salon I used to go to suggested TIGI Catwalk Oatmeal and Honey shampoo and conditioner to me a few years back. I used that for a few months and it worked okay, but not so well after that. Plus, it cost a little more than I liked.
Then, one day at school about a year back they were handing out goodie bags with cosmetic and hair products for some fundraiser. In it was a sample of Sunsilk Hydra TLC shampoo, conditioner, and leave-in moisturizer. I tried the sample and really liked it so I ended up buying it. That is seriously the ONLY shampoo I have used since! And it still works wonderfully!! You should alternate our shampoo depending on the weather. On heavy fog days you need a shampoo with no weight like Purology for fine hair....on days when you want to weigh your hair down, you should use a heavier shampoo like redken all soft.
Usually a volumizing shampoo is better for fine hair. I recommending switching your conditioners between volumizing and moisturizing. Volumizing conditioners contain more protiens and moisturizers contain more moisture. When it seems like your hair is used to one or it seems like its just not working anymore its because your hair has had enough of it. So switching between two when you need to is good. TIGI self absorbed is awsome for your type of hair. Also, halo and matrix are good ones too.
Anything from a dollar town store--- good shampoos and conditioners for 99 cents all the time, any time

herbal essance works wicked good...i have the same excact type of hair as you..as for a leave in conditioner.. i like garnier fruites (i have no idea how to spell that) its a green tub... also if your hair is still frizzy or a ';poof ball'; try straightening it..and if its too flat..scrunch it, or wear a headband or wear it up...or even curl the ends ike beach waves.

It should be available tho I'm not sure... if not, then use something that specifically says it adds hydration. Deep condition your hair once a week for 15mins w/ extra virgin coconut oil. Use a good hair serum daily, like Citre Shine, which is available @ cvs %26amp; is cheap. :)

A good weekly treatment is using a hot oil treatment or mixing honey and olive oil[and heating it up and applying to hair] once a week.
I had damaged fragile hair, and what i've been doing since is when I get out of the shower I towel dry it, then I put Beyond The Zone ';Split Mender'; on the tips of my hair, then I let it air dry for a little bit. Then after It starts to slightly dry I put CHI Silk Infusion [or a cheaper version;Generic Silk Treatment] on the the roots and around the top of my hair. Then i blow dry it with a round tourmaline brush n sections. Then i put a few drops of The Silk Treatment into my hand and it makes your hair Unbeliveably soft and healthy to the touch.

It depends on what your hair type is. Redkin and Biolage have some great products for dry hair. If your hair is coarse or needs lots of moisture I suggest using Redkin's Allsoft line. Part of the line is a weekly treatment called Heavy Cream which is amazing. If your hair is dry Redkin's Clear Moisture line is good. If your hair is fairly damaged Redkin's Extreme line is really good at getting your hair back in shape. Pretty much all of Redkin's lines contain a weekly treatment conditioning product.
Biolage makes 2 kinds of moisturizng lines for dry and damaged hair. One is for fine/normal hair and the other is for thick coarse hair, so you can find which one would better suit your hair type.

It comes in a PINK bottle and It is sold at virtually any drug store or grocery store and goes for around $3 a bottle. It smells great and leaves your hair silky, smooth and soft. Sunsilk sells hydra tlc shampooo, conditioner, 247 creme and a multi-symptom mask. I would definaetly try sunsilk if i were you!!!

To repair I suggest an intensive treatment and to to prevent, a real shampoo and conditioner from a salon. It is a little more expensive but it makes your hiar really nice to touch.

my hair is really thick..and a part is kinda wavy already because we have to tie our hair into a bun when we go on duty...What is a good shampoo for frizzy hair and something to straighten it?
If your hair is anything like mine, shampooing it on a daily basis will just damage it and make it more frizzy. Curlier hair tends to dry out faster than straight hair, so treat it carefully.
Products I use:
Garnier length and strength
Garnier dry or damaged hair
What I do typically:
In the shower, I will shampoo all my hair once every 2-3 days, sometimes I will only shampoo the roots. I condition all my hair every day. While conditioner is still in my hair, I use my fingers to comb it to take out snarls being careful not to pull it (this damages it further). Once out of the shower, I gently towel dry it. Blowdrying is BAD. Using a diffuser is ok. Before it is dry, use some other products in it to keep the frizz down. I like the Herbal essence max hold gel. You will have to experiment with it for the look you like. Only use alittle for a more natural look. I then finish it off with the extra hold spray gel.
Other great products for keeping the frizz at bay:
Samy (everything is great, especially the get curls re-energizing potion)
Frizz-eaze (only the ointment)

After the shampoo is rinsed out, brush his hair with a soft brush or comb and then apply Aquaphor baby lotion on his head each time and brush it in. Doing this for a few days worked for my daughter! The nurse said that if the ears look like it too, then the doctor needs to take a look. Good luck to you!

i would skip the store brand items and take him to your pediatrician. it could be a little bit worse than cradle cap, like eczema. they might prescribe something for him.

i get thick hair from my native american side... but all hair types are different, and head n shoulders original formula works the best 4 me.

If your hair is anything like mine, shampooing it on a daily basis will just damage it and make it more frizzy. Curlier hair tends to dry out faster than straight hair, so treat it carefully.
Products I use:
Garnier length and strength
Garnier dry or damaged hair
What I do typically:
In the shower, I will shampoo all my hair once every 2-3 days, sometimes I will only shampoo the roots. I condition all my hair every day. While conditioner is still in my hair, I use my fingers to comb it to take out snarls being careful not to pull it (this damages it further). Once out of the shower, I gently towel dry it. Blowdrying is BAD. Using a diffuser is ok. Before it is dry, use some other products in it to keep the frizz down. I like the Herbal essence max hold gel. You will have to experiment with it for the look you like. Only use alittle for a more natural look. I then finish it off with the extra hold spray gel.
Other great products for keeping the frizz at bay:
Samy (everything is great, especially the get curls re-energizing potion)
Frizz-eaze (only the ointment)

Tresemme makes good products all around. I would use the thermal creations for sure when I was going to use heat. If your hair is dry/damaged you should use a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner; just alternate between the two.

That way, you won't have to get so many trims because you'll have less breakage.

Don't use human shampoo on your cat, it will be too harsh. This is important since your cat already has dry, flaky skin. You can get a pet shampoo at your local pet store.
You should also try to figure out why she has dandruff:
I have to ask - what you are feeding her? My cat is a picky eater and I was running low on Evo so I started trying different brands to see if she'd go for any of them. She wasn't thrilled with the other brands and suddenly she started getting bad dandruff. I switched back to Evo and it was amazing how quickly the dandruff went away.
Another possible cause of the dandruff is an allergy to fleas or mites or some other parasite. If these are the underlying cause, you'll need to take her to the vet.

If she can handle a bath get some baby shampoo.. it is the pest bemedy for dandruff on a samll animal unfortanitly using humman pruduct on an animal are highly unrecomended because they never thoroughly wash our of there fur which in turn means when the cat licks itself it will ingest the shampoo that is still in its fur.

Don't use cod liver oil, it's too heavy for their liver to process and regular use of that depletes their system of vitamin A.
You really should stay away from the shampoos. But there are things you need to do. If you cat sleeps on a pad or pillow be sure to wash it frequently, get rid of all the brushes you use on your cat and get new ones(wash them after use), get a carpet spray flea-control to spray on your carpet or engage a pest exterminator. Does anyone know a shampoo that will strip color from your hair good?

The best I ever found was Hemp Shampoo! And once I put a slight colour to my hair, I never had oily hair again!
i dont know a shampoo/conditioner that is good for that, but you can actually dust some baby powder on your roots, to absorb the oil, then you have to rub it in so it doesn't stand out too much..i have black hair, and it works really well...quick...cheap..and easy..and smells fresh.

You should use shampoo that is labeled for use with ';small animals';. It doesn't cost any more than human shampoo. Cat, dog, puppy, kitten, and human baby shampoo are too drying for their delicate skin.
You can also use EpiSoothe (available from the vet and in some large pet stores) or order shampoos especially made for piggies from a company in the UK called Gorgeous Guineas. I have used these products and found them to be superb.

Piggies don't need to be washed unless really dirty, but I have Gorgeous Guineas shampoos on hand for those times when bum baths are required. :P

I think it's great how your getting a piggie! There SUCH a great experience to live with! Well, first of your NEVER use human shampoo on your piggie. Though, you can use gentle coat puppy shampoo or guinea pig shampoo. If your on a tight budget I recomend you buy the gentle coat puppy shampoo. Second, NEVER use soup on your piggie, it could lead to a rach or get in their eyes!

Dont use dog shampoo, normal human shampoo or soap. The thing I use is baby shampoo as that is safe for them or you could get special guinea pig shampoo but its probably more expensive. You wont need to wash your piggie for a while after you get it until it gets used to you tho.
dont litsen to morgan or yoursexi stalker, they are wrong. u should use guinea pig shampoo. u can try using tear free baby shampoo, but i wouldnt. u may be able to find some at petco or ur local pet store. realy anywhere you can buy guinea pigs.
hmm dog shampoo? the best shampoo i think is the shampoo they use on small animals, like rabbit shampoo is fine, I think it's located by all the rest of small animal supplies, not hard to find!
if u are gonna use human make sure its baby and dotn use a lot. rinse very well. do not use dog shampoo. i personally dont use any. plain lukewarm water works on my boys.
I'd use baby shampoo, like a tear-free kind, that way it won't burn a lot if it gets in its eyes. I wouldn't use dog shampoo cause it might poison them.
use a pea sized amount of baby shampoo, trust me. it make them smell and look amazin. :):)

Im getting mine in a few weeks and im just getting prepared, so please awnser some of my other quesions when i have some.
My quesion is can you wash your guinea pigs with human or dog shampoo, or does it have to be special guinea pig shampoo?

You should use shampoo that is labeled for use with ';small animals';. It doesn't cost any more than human shampoo. Cat, dog, puppy, kitten, and human baby shampoo are too drying for their delicate skin.
You can also use EpiSoothe (available from the vet and in some large pet stores) or order shampoos especially made for piggies from a company in the UK called Gorgeous Guineas. I have used these products and found them to be superb.

Piggies don't need to be washed unless really dirty, but I have Gorgeous Guineas shampoos on hand for those times when bum baths are required. :P

I think it's great how your getting a piggie! There SUCH a great experience to live with! Well, first of your NEVER use human shampoo on your piggie. Though, you can use gentle coat puppy shampoo or guinea pig shampoo. If your on a tight budget I recomend you buy the gentle coat puppy shampoo. Second, NEVER use soup on your piggie, it could lead to a rach or get in their eyes!

Dont use dog shampoo, normal human shampoo or soap. The thing I use is baby shampoo as that is safe for them or you could get special guinea pig shampoo but its probably more expensive. You wont need to wash your piggie for a while after you get it until it gets used to you tho.
dont litsen to morgan or yoursexi stalker, they are wrong. u should use guinea pig shampoo. u can try using tear free baby shampoo, but i wouldnt. u may be able to find some at petco or ur local pet store. realy anywhere you can buy guinea pigs.
hmm dog shampoo? the best shampoo i think is the shampoo they use on small animals, like rabbit shampoo is fine, I think it's located by all the rest of small animal supplies, not hard to find!
if u are gonna use human make sure its baby and dotn use a lot. rinse very well. do not use dog shampoo. i personally dont use any. plain lukewarm water works on my boys.
I'd use baby shampoo, like a tear-free kind, that way it won't burn a lot if it gets in its eyes. I wouldn't use dog shampoo cause it might poison them.
use a pea sized amount of baby shampoo, trust me. it make them smell and look amazin. :):)

First as a hairstylist I'm telling you probably nothing you can buy outside of a salon is going to help you.
It sounds like your hair was highlighted with bleach. Bleach can be extremely damaging and drying to the hair if left on too long.
Call your stylist and tell her/him that you hair is breaking off since she/he highlighted. If your stylist wants to keep you as a client she/he will give you a deep conditioning free of charge.
For a while you are going to have to be careful with you hair. After you wash it don't scrub at it with the towel. Wrap the length of you hair in the towel and wring it like you would a if you were trying to remove the water from a wet towel. This will reduce the amount of tangling. Also try not to wash your hair eveyday. Unless your hair gets oily washing everyday is not only not necessary but is unhealthy for your hair, you're washing out the natural oils and conditioners it needs to stay healthy.
Apply a leave-in conditioner and comb out with a large wide-toothed comb, not a brush. This will reduce the amount of breakage by a large amount.
Before you blow-dry apply a thermal protectant to reduce the amount of heat damage.
As far as shampoo, I recommend that you get L'oreal Professional Intense Repair. For both the shampoo and conditioner you'll probably pay $40 - $50. It is more that you'd pay for a store brand but L'oreal Professional products are highly concentrated and should last you about 3 times longer.

I would have the split ends cut off by your hairdresser. Then I would try one of those leave in hair conditioners they advertised on the tv all the time.

hmm...well i used to have long damaged hair as well...first off...id cut a little bit off just because thast whats prolly really making ure hair look damaged. a bit off can go a long way...after that...get some herbal essences...shampoo and conditioner...also..get either aussie or garnier fructis deep conditioner..and use that like every saturday...that should do you good...also..you can go to like a grocery store somewhere and get some coconut oil and warm it up and leave it in your hair for about 30 minutes...wash it off and just keep it going with the cleansing with the shampoos and stuff.

no shampoo, no condiutioner, I just let my hair clean itself with natural oils...works fine...
I use kerestase shampoo and conditioner which i get from my salon - although quite expensive, i have found that it has made my hair much stronger and keeps split ends at bay! I have highlighted hair as well and my hairdresser told me to use it as highlighting your hair can make it weaker and this shampoo and conditioner helps stop this. Even if you used the shampoo already, still use the Front line stuff. You can get it at the vet's. It works amazingly well.... It's all I've ever used, and then just vacuum thoroughly. Don't. It is far too often to shampoo an dog plus flea shampoos are not much use - they get rid of a few adult fleas but the eggs and larvae hatch and the fleas come right back.
The ONLY thing that works completely and keeps fleas, eggs, and larvae off your dog are name brand topical flea preventatives - Advantix or Frontline Plus are excellent.
You apply these on the back of the dog's neck, part the hair, put on skin - and it keeps your dog flea free all month.

Use frontline or any of those name brands for flea treatment, don't shampoo, it dries there skin and that's way to much toxin for his body, I give my small dog a fast shower, no soap, it helps with itchiness. If you just brush him it should encourage the nature oil in his skin to come up. it's not always fleas, I have a yorkie-poo who just likes to aly in the sun, I know she's getting by something, maybe a fire-ant, (SC). she likes to sun herself :)
I buy my adult dog a flea shampoo at Wal Mart and in the summer I give the dog a flea bath once per week or every other week in the summer depending on the weather. I live down south. I do not give the dog a bath during the winter as the dog should not have a bath in cold or very cool weather. You can buy Advantage or Frontline at your vet's.

The medication will do one of two things, it will either kill the adult fleas whenever they bite your dog for food or they will make it so their eggs can not hatch.
Now home remedies... some people will suggest things like dish soap and garlic.. Garlic is toxic to a dog and it should not be given to them. Dish soap may help to get rid of the fleas on your dog at that moment but it will not help kill any that jump onto your dog a few hours later..also dish soap strips out natural oils in your dogs skin so you can't use it more then once.
Other products... flea collars..most flea collars do not work. flea shampoos and powders react the same way dish soap does. Flea sprays...these can be know to be effective..but they are highly toxic and if you have baseboards your will have little success. This is b/c flea eggs and larva bury themselves really deep into the carpet and baseboards. Flea bombs...again highly toxic.
Sometimes part of this issue is outside the house. An exterminator will need to be called to deal with them.
Vacuuming... a single tool that can be helpful. This can help to pick up dead and alive adult fleas. But you have to be careful. the bag needs to be tightly closed and disposed of asap.
Do you have other pets? All pets need to be treated with the medication..this includes other dogs, cats and even rabbits. Since fleas rely on an animal blood to reproduce not giving just one animal medication can help add to the problem.

Even if you used the shampoo already, still use the Front line stuff. You can get it at the vet's. It works amazingly well.... It's all I've ever used, and then just vacuum thoroughly.
