Can i use normal shampoo straight after using hair dye?

I'm dying my hair now with a home dye kit, but i'm wondering while washing it off can i use my normal shampoo after i've rinsed the colour out. It says use the conditioner that comes with it but i'll use that after my shampoo.

Yes you can, but make sure you have rinsed your hair out properly so the colour settles, once it's dyed, it's dyed there's no problem with using shampoo, make sure you use LOTS of conditioner though, I think this is people's main mistake when they dye their hair they forget it damages it a bit, conditioner is very good for it.Can i use normal shampoo straight after using hair dye?
No! Don't shampoo it. Heres why -


After dyeing your hair, the colour hasn't 'settle' in yet. Do NOT shampoo it for about 24 hours. Conditioner, however, seals the cuticle on the hair and stops colour escaping too much.


Just rinse your hair with warm water after dyeing till the water runs clear. The leave the conditioner on about 10-20 mins (it'll say like 5 mins but it feels nice if you leave it on longer) then wash it out.





Also, don't worry about your hair being unclean. Hair dye is almost like an extremely strong shampoo - it will take all the dirt and oils out of your hair and dry it out. It might not feel dry, but it will be. So don't worry about it not being clean.
No, your not suppose to wash your hair for 24-48 hours after home colouring hair. It dulls the colour and may make your hair turn undesirable colours. Shampoo is full of harsh chemicals that are likely to react badly with the hair dye. Wait 24 hrs before shampooing your hair!
