Is there a way to get rid of head lice without using all the medicated shampoo you can get?

My little sister has picked up head lice from school, they like her hair because she has very thick hair, now she can't get it thinned out because salon's won't treat hair with head lice. We've tried the shampoo you can get but it doesnt seem to get rid of all of them. Is there any other way? I'd also need to do my brother's hair too to make sure they don't come back.Is there a way to get rid of head lice without using all the medicated shampoo you can get?
wash her hair with normal shampoo and then towel dry hair, now add conditioner to her hair (you could add some drops of neem or tea tree oil to it if you like) them massage it through her head and hair. Comb out with a nit comb then rinse. do this every 3 days for 2 weeks. Then use a neem oil conditioner to deter any new nits.

You can also get a non chemical leave in condition that you massage in comb through and no need to rinse. look in holland and barret. Is there a way to get rid of head lice without using all the medicated shampoo you can get?
I would surgest trying a diffirent headlice shampoo.

Comb them out with a headlice comb.

If this doesn't work then use lots of conditioner and a headlice comb and they will slide out. But it will take ages and you have to keep checking incase they layed eggs and they hatch. I would personally cut her hair short because it will make it harder for them to come back.

In my grandparents day they would shave their heads and burn the hair. The only other thing I can surgest if it keeps failing is trying everything on the market to get rid of them or consult your doctor.
shave the head bald. No hair no lice.
