Can using a new shampoo give you dandruff?

I just bought this new shampoo and conditioner and have washed my hair with it twice. I have noticed that I have a lot of dandruff now and haven't had it for a long time! Is it the shampoo/conditioner that is causing it or could there be another reason?Can using a new shampoo give you dandruff?
that usually happens to me too... i think its just that the contents of the product do not go along well with our skin type.. coz there are shampoos and conditioners which do not cause dandruff...





when you buy something to use for any part of your body, consider its contents and its configuration.. an example is for the ';';skin type';'; (oily skin, dry skin) or ';';hair type';'; (oily hair, fine hair)...





my dad used to attribute it to being just unable to wash away the shampoo or conditioner very well.. such that their residues make the skin itch and eventually develop into flakes... !o!. which i sometimes find is true...





anyway, if in the event you've already washed your hair very well after using it and still have dandruff, better switch to your usual shampoo and conditioner...





you may find it a waste of money to throw away or give away the shampoo and conditioner you've just bought but if they make you uncomfortable, why care?

It could be, if the shampoo makes your scalp really dry, that could leed to dandruff.

The one you might have been using before had a moisturizer in it which aided in preventing your dry scalp which leads to dandruff.
your old shampoo could have been an anti-dandruff shampoo, and the switch may not be preventing it anymore. Otherwise your scalp may not agree with one of the ingredients in your new shampoo.
