What type of shampoo makes your hair REALLY shiny?

I am starting to do some more crazy hairstyles and they are coming out great! However my hair seems to just be dull.....not sleek and shiny, I am not on a celebrity budget, but if anyone has any brands or tips that I should buy and/or try....I would be most grateful. What type of shampoo makes your hair REALLY shiny?
Your hair is an important part of your appearance. If your hair does not look good, your entire appearance can be ruined. All of us would like to have beautiful, silky, shiny hair. But like a number of other beauty secrets many of us do not know how to make our hair shiny. Different hair textures need different ingredients to make it shiny. Healthy, shiny hair enhances the beauty of a person.

Fine Hair : for fine hair look for a shampoo with wheat proteins and polymers. These ingredients coat the hair shaft making it look thicker. Use spray volumizers. These are light enough and will deposit a light mist of shine in the form of droplets without wilting your hair.

Normal Hair : for normal hair use a shampoo that has silk amino acids, this softens and repairs hair structure. Lecithin restores hair texture. To add shine you can use gels and creams. First apply the product on your palm, rub your hands together and pat gently on to your hair.

Thick and Coarse Hair: Use pomades they will not only make your hair shiny but will moisturize your hair as well.

Tips For Shiny Hair

Use heat-activated shampoo

Deep condition at least weekly

Don鈥檛 use a lot of styling products as they can dull the hair by coating it.

Use Strawberry hair mask: mash eight strawberries with one-tablespoon mayonnaise. Massage this into washed but damp hair. Cover it with a shower cap and then a warm towel. Wash out with a shampoo and then condition. This mask will give your hair a rich gloss.

Increase the shine in your hair by giving your hair a cool blast of air to seal the cuticle after it is completely dry. If the cuticles are ragged then your hair will not shine.

For blonde hair use a few tablespoons of lemon juice to your rinse water. This will make your hair shiny.

For brown and red hair add a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar to your rinse water.

For shiny hair you can also mix one teaspoon of honey into 4 cups of warm water. After shampooing, pour the mixture through your hair, but do not rinse. Dry as normal. What type of shampoo makes your hair REALLY shiny?
Hey, this is great! Report Abuse

Pantene is GREAT.

So are shampoo bottles that say ';shine enhancing'; or ';volumizer'; on them.

But okay, try this.

Try treating your hair with 1/4 cup of lemon juice or vinegar every 2 weeks. it strips the hair of all of the products you've been putting in it and it returns a natural shine.

Also putting an egg in your hair makes it shiny, But i've only done it once because I don't like the smell.

You can also try shine enhancing hair spray. Dove Flexible hold is great, if you spray it on your comb/brush before using it, it gives it shine, and gets rid of static which is NICE.

yeah... So good luck! :)
I know how you feel! I used to bleach my hair alot which took away all shine that I had in my hair! I then started using deep conditioners all the time but that grew to be costly and my hair was not very strong. I then found Aussie shampoo and conitioner which worked great! my hair had never been so shiny before :)

the only thing about using the shampoo and conditioner was that it made my hair kind of oily at the roots which I didn't like. So I recommend scrubbing the shampoo in alot at the roots and around your face, where you hairline is. Rinse it out and then use the conditioner only on your ends, trust me. Good luck!
you hair is probably coated. remove build up with liquid laundry detergent. leave it on for several minutes, then rinse and condition. then switch shampoo. definitly not pantene. it has polymers that coat your hair in a plastic film. so do kid shampoos, and most 2-in-1s. try dove or garnier if you can't buy professional.
anything in the L'Occitane line. the shampoo is $17 and the conditioner is $28 but it is totally worth it!! I recommend it wholeheartedly. If you dont want to spend THAT much money, try Hello Hydration by Herbal Essences. That works pretty good too
It is not really products that determine how shiny your hair is.

If your hair is blonde it will not tend to shine as it is a dull colour.

Any dark colours will shine if the hair is healthy.

If the hair is healthy then the cuticle will be flat to the hair and light will shine on to the hair and it will look shiny.

Try a hair treatment to strengthen and repair your hair.

Hope this helps.

I use this glossing cream from Bath and Body Works -- it's called Fekkai Glossing Cream. It makes my hair shiny and less frizzy. The small tube costs $ 10.00 or less (not sure) and the 8 oz. tube costs about $ 20.00 but you only need a pea size cream so the 8 oz tube -- I am still using and bought it last June 2008.
these shampoos are all natural, smell great, and are great for making Your hair silky and perfect! here's the link http://www.deliziososkincare.com/Shampoo鈥?/a>

well everybody hair type/texture is different. try using conditioner and leaving it in for longer, like before you get out of the shower put in conditioner and leave it in for about half an hour and then rinse it out in the sink.. that what i do.
You can buy a little tub of pantene conditioner. You leave it in for 5 mins. and then wash it out. It makes your hair really nice.
